Simply Crepes Cafe
Description
For centuries, the term crepe has made people's minds swirl with images of the romantic sidewalk cafes of Paris. A warm breeze, elegant decor and a ready waiter are usually a part of the scene. Yet, a crepe does not have to be thought of as a lavish treat. It's simply a wonderful meal. For The Heroux Family, with a French Canadian background, the wondrous scent of crepes cooking is one of the simple joys of life. The recipe used in their home and now at their restaurants has been passed down through many generations. What makes it special is its versatile ability to translate such a wide variety of foods to the plate. Whether its breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert, the crepe works as the medium to serve you a delicious meal! Pierre Heroux's career path led him and his family to Tokyo, Japan for part of their lives. While they traveled much of the world, including many European and Asian countries, most of their time was spent in the hustle and bustle of the narrow, crowded streets of Tokyo. As the family became more familiar with the varied districts of Tokyo, one common aspect was clear: Small crepe stands thrived, serving fresh fruit and ice cream filled crepes! Traditionally, the Heroux Family served 100% pure maple syrup produced from the family's own sugar bush in Quebec, Canada. Today, with a strong determination to support local businesses, the pure maple syrup, hidden in many recipes, is used in all Simply Crepes locations and is produced in New York State. Simply Crepes is proud to offer other local products throughout the menu, as well a wine list that is heavily filled with grapes grown locally in vineyards around the Finger Lakes Region. The Heroux Family has taken the wonderful concept of the crepe from the tranquil sugar bushes of Canada, the romantic sidewalk cafes of France, the crowded streets of Tokyo and is proud to share this unique, fresh and healthful dish with the local community.
was disappointed as of late with the quality of food at Simply crepes.
The dinner crepes were not very good. Just average. Just a bunch of
stuff wrapped in a crepe and charge $15.00 for it. Like the Seafood and
Chicken taragon. Go to a real restaurant for these things. Stick with the
dessert crepes.
We also had poor service. Our table was near the pick up window and some of the plates sat there for ten minutes. I had the brie with ham and apple butter crepe. The brie and ham were so salty. The chopped tomato and sliced apples did NOTHING for this dish. For three of us it cost $75. Never again. I'll make mine at home. Oh--and the noise level was awful.
My favorite place on the Canal. The Strawberry-banana-nutella crepe with ice cream is to die for!! the savory crepes like the seafood one is great.
I wish they were open later though.
