Red Coach Inn Restaurant

Description

If you think this inn looks older than it is, you're right. It's modeled after the Old Bell Inn in Finedon, England, which goes back to the days of King Harold. The conveniences, however, are right up to date, including cable TV and air conditioning. Located in the center of Niagara Falls with a view of the rapids at the top of the falls, the inn wouldn't be complete without a cozy pub to unwind in with a good pint. Pub grub is offered here as well as a good selection of beer. Each new guest is welcomed with a bottle of champagne and a cheese tray.

save your money! Stay at the Sheraton in Canada!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/6/11
We drove 5.5 hours to get here and tired we entered the dining room to get a cup of coffee. after the server saw that we just wanted a cup of coffee he was rude.. The room "The Aberdeen" room was awful.. The only windowwas the one that was located right at the front sidewalk. We felt like we were staying in a storefront window.. Then supper time.. We went outside to enter the entrance of the building and were asked if we had reservations?? We were not informed about reservations so we couldnt eat on the patio however we witnessed other folks came in with no reservations and were seated outside.. The website boasts that the Inn sits a mere 500ft from the falls.. not true! Its 500ft to the rapids of the american Falls.. The actual Falls itself is a 3/4 mile walk.. We cancelled the rest of our resevations the next day and went on into Canada.. The Sheraton has breathtaking views of both Falls and the service is outstanding..

A Truly Rare Gem In A Highly Commercialized City
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/12/11
We chose this for a quick, nearby getaway weekend for my birthday and as a change from the Canadian side of the border, where we live. The special offer was on "Groupon", so we thought this was a great opportunity to finally explore the American side of the Falls as well. Our expectations were far exceeded with the finest quality furnishings, service, attention to all details both in the accomodations and the diningroom. The staff was friendly, professional and very appreciative of our business--rare for "touristy' locations! Being directly across the street from the Upper Rapids of the American Falls, the background sound of the water was soothing. Although the overall decor is Old English/antique, all the expected modern conveniences are provided. The location makes it easily accessible to walk to many of the nearby attractions and central to a dozen more. Staying at this Inn felt like being in Europe without the travel time and expense required. We would say that the value is better than staying at the overpriced Hotels/Inns on the Canadian side of Niagara-On-The-Lake, the view is better across the border when dining at night, and the exchange rate is very good at this particular time. We not only look forward to returning in warmer weather to experience dining on their outdoor patio, but also plan to visit their second property, The Bistro at the Old Fort Inn, not too far away in Youngstown, N.Y. along the Niagara River.

The Red Coach Inn - Niagara Falls, NY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/10/10
As a professional travel journalist I review many hotels and resorts, inns and B&Bs. I was by far most impressed with the Red Coach Inn due to it's historical connection and contribution to the birth of the United States. The Inn itself is very unique and quaint and the location is unbelievably cool for either business, families, couples, or even a small wedding.

DISAPPOINTED ON MY VISIT
By Wilhelmina, 9/24/10
I was there in Feb. 1949 and found the Red coach Inn not very quiet, I was just married and thought it would be so different. I guess I was expecting something very different Please note entering the year it doesn't allow it older than 2005

cozy and convenient
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/2/10
Having never been to Niagra Falls, we were unsure of where to stay, though we did want to stay on the American side. We chose the Red Coach Inn because of the location and other reviews. We made the right choice! Being able to just walk across the street to Niagra Falls State Park was very convenient. We also walked over the bridge to the Canadian side twice. We stayed in the Trafalgar room, which was in the back of the inn so we did not have a view of the river but that did not matter to us.However, I was a little concerned that anyone could come in to the parking lot and right up to our door. The room was very clean and well appointed. There was some remodeling being done in a nearby room with workmen there but that did not disturb us in any way. Breakfast was a choice of anything on the menu and very tasty. We also had dinner there and food was delicious and reasonably priced. Service was good. We could have stayed in a big box chain hotel for less money (not much less, though) but chose the Red Coach because we wanted a different experience. I would stay here again and would reccomend it to my family and friends.

unbeliveable find
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/9/09
We were 2 couples without children and preferred to stay on the american side, wanted a really nice place with free parking and breakfast. The Red Coach Inn surpassed our expectations. We had 2BR/2Bath/LR/FP suite. The decor is a bit frilly but it was SPOT LESS, spacious and comfortable. We are luxury travelers and this place is fantastic.

Low Class Service
By Sandra, 8/14/09
We went to this restaurant and the service was snooty and horrible. We walked out and got warmer, friendlier service at the Hard Rock Cafe!

Red Coach Inn Great Place to Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/22/09
My family and I loved our stay at the Red Coach Inn. It made it one of the our most wonderful memories of Niagara Falls. It is a truly beautiful hotel with a great staff, service and food. The Inn is located across for the rapids and American Falls. They made our stay in Niagara Falls the very best.

Dreamy Getaway...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/6/09
My Boyfriend and myself are from Rochester, N.Y., just an hour away, and this place is our home away from home. We have stayed at the Red Coach four times in past 12 months. Each room is a new, wonderful, surpriseing experience. The staff is great, rooms are all uniquely different, and the food is mouth watering. We will continue, for many years, to return to the Red Coach, for the "home away from home" experience.

A Wonderful Retreat!
By Kathleen, 4/19/09
We had a beautiful stay-- the room was stunning and so comfortable and beautifully appointed. Perfect for the five of us. We were so amazed at the champagne and fruit/cheese plate awaiting us. You have thought of every little touch. Every detail. And all are so very much appreciated. The April snow was an extra bonus for my family from Costa Rica. They had never seen snow before!!! Your staff was darling. Especially Amanda at the front desk. We loved her and she took extra special care of us. Even got us driving directions back home with a short-cut! Your delightful handyman came to our rescue in letting me use his ice scraper to get my car going. Everyone was so nice. Thank you for the lovely stay, the warm and inviting hospitality, the attention to detail, and all you did to make us feel like we were "home" in this beautiful space. After 7 hours of driving to get to Niagra Falls-- let me tell you-- it was a wonderful retreat! We will tell everyone we know about the Red Coach Inn with much enthusiasm and compliments!!!! And, we'll definitely be back. Congratulations on having one of the nicest inns we've ever experienced. A++++++++++++++!
