Standard Ponderosa menu and clean restaurant, and our steaks were cooked fine, so I'll talk a little about the salad bar, hot bar and dessert bar. Salad bar was OK -- nothing really stood out. Hot bar had a few good entree items, but the hot vegetable selection was mediocre -- below the usual standards for a Ponderosa. However, the dessert bar was surprisingly good and surprisingly varied; good pistachio whip, good peanut butter cup, good berry cobbler -- the bread pudding looked good as well but I only had so much room for dessert. :-)
Me and my family went to Ponderosa on 1/3/08. The food was very poor, most of the food looked as if it had been left out over night. There was a film or a crust over most of the hot dishes, like when something has not been touched for hours. We have been there before hoping things will get better, only to ask ourselves why we came back, believe me we won't make that mistake again. This place has only two types of waitress or waiter.
the first is the one that you can never get to come back to your table. They never ask you for refills walk by your table and take plates off the one next to you.The second is the one who comes back every two min. to the point it makes you unconfortable. You talk to the manager about the problem only to get the eye from the person you talked about. Back to the food. They took out the custard ice cream, only to put in hard ice cream. This would not be a problem but with kids if you have no chocolate or vanilla you have a problem! I believe that the owner of the place need to change things, use Old Country Buffet as a model! Ponderosa had an employee hang out next to one of the food tables lack of work or just no boss to see how bad that looked from were I was sitting.I could go on and on you compare the two and tell me what you think!!!!!!
