very bad sewage smell in one part of the restaurant. when we commented on it the owner happened to over hear the comment. she repeatedly told us she was the owner and didn't appreciate us announcing that to her other customers. the rest of the time we were there she made us very uncomfortable. food was nothing special. Pricing is not an issue if the food is in line with the price. The only positive is the server was excellent and it is a very pretty place. Thumbs down on how the "owner" handled her situation..

The food was great and the atmosphere quite nice. One issue that needs to be resolved, though, if it's to be an upscale restaurant in the evening (which price suggests it intends to be): The waitress simply can't say "You got it" and "no problem" and similar exclamations when the customer is ordering the food. A more upscale, less coffee shop/diner service is in order to be in keeping with the other aspects of this venue.

Great Lunch

This restaurant is a staple for the business crowd lunch and pre-Sabre game meal and/or drinks. Food is prepared well and ranges from jambalaya to steamed butterfish. The wait staff is efficient and friendly and the overall fare is reasonably priced.

Great spot for a romantic lunch

I just went there yesterday for my fiance's birthday and we were more than pleased. The service and the food were both great. The wine list was great. Decor is perfect! Loved it

Too bad I don't live in Buffalo....

This restaurant was a very pleasent surprise. I had the porkchops with acorn squash stuffed with some type of cranberry compote. It was wonderful! I am smiling just thinking about it! If I am ever in Buffalo again, I will definitely be back.

When looking at the menu of this restaurant I wasn't sure what type of customer it's trying to attract. It tries to be too much to too few. The food was average and overpriced.

Will be going back again soon!

My husband and I went early on BYOB night. We went early to beat any crowd and loved it. Our waiter was fantastic and it was really great to be able to bring our favorite wine which we can't find easily.The food was cooked exactly as we ordered it and the gnocchi was outstanding! I had no idea this place existed & only found out because a friend recommended it. It's hidden from view on the subway line so you have to kind of know where you're going. If you go early (4pm or so) it;s a nice place for a quiet romantic dinner.

Easily One of the Top Three Restaurants in WNY

I went to City Grill this past Saturday for their BYOB night. Everything was simply fantastic. We brought our own bottle of wine -- no corkage fee, no service charge... Our waiter (also fantastic) treated our bottle just as if it was one of their own. The Pork Tenderloin was to die for, a friend had the Duck Breast and our other guests ordered off the feature menu... everything was perfect. As a side, the Gorgonzola Potato Pie is unbelievable. City Grill is easily one of the top three restaurants in all of WNY. The menu is online at www.UltimateRestaurants.com. For all those in Buffalo who appreciate a fine meal with impeccable service and attention to detail, City Grill is a must.
