Pano's on Elmwood
Winner of the Favorite Greek Diner poll in the Buffalo area, this restaurant has been catering to an ever-growing customer base for many years nowand has expanded to meet the need. Located in the Elmwood Strip area not far from historic Allentown , the diner serves everything from breakfast to late-night snacks. An enclosed, heated patio opens up for the summer for a view of the passing parade. The staff is upbeat and very attentiveand you never have to wait more than a few minutes for your order.
Pano's on Elmwood. Talk about a Greek restaurant owner being cheap. The owner obviously buys the cheapest product to cook and serve for his customers. He cuts corners on everything he can, especially the luke warm coffee. I've had a steak here, big mistake, was very chewy. I also had fries with a side of gravy. The gravy was cold and obviously made with a gravy powder mix (just add water). The only chance you have at this place is the Chicken Soulvaki. Other than that, the owner is making too much off his trendy customers. I guess its cool to go to Pano's, but i must be missing something.
The only thing good about this place is that its open 24 hours.
My husband and I went to Pano's after a movie, I ordered dinner which included a salad. While I was eating it I noticed a piece of chewed gum laying in it. I told our waitress who said - what do you want me to do about it. We left immediately and will never eat here again!
This is a diner that wants to be a restaurant. The service is extremely slow, the prices are high for what is basically a greasy spoon greek diner. Since they tore down one of the most unique historic homes in the area for parking, I have decided to stay away from this place. They will never see an other penny of mine. Also, they are notorious for treating their employees poorly. No wonder the service is so bad.
Pano's is a staple in Buffalo in part because it's easy and the menu suits all kinds of appetites. Many times it's crowded and you may have to wait to get a table. I've eaten at Pano's since they opened the new location (where they are now.) The food is just OK - nothing special and a bit overpriced in my opinion.
The service is adequate, again - nothing special.
When I come to visit my boyfriend we have to go to Pano's at least once. The first time we went I got the Chicken Souvlaki dinner and he got something different. He recommended it to me. It was fabulous. He kept picking at my dinner. The second time ( in the same week) I got something different and he got the Chicken Souvlaki Dinner and I ended up picking at his dinner. The next time I visited we both were smart and ordered the C.S. dinner!!! We didn't have to pick at eachothers dinners. Now when we go there and I don't even know why we ask for menus.
