This eatery has been known for its trademark pizza pods ever since they first opened their doors in 1980. Pizza pods are baked shells of dough filled with your choice of over 40 different fillings. Choose from a 10-inch major pod or a 16-inch mega pod. Other menu selections include pasta, like fettucini alfredo, spicy chicken penne, and chicken parm. They also have soup and salad, burritos, wraps, and sandwiches. Pizza is also served, including stuffed crust pizza and flat pizza. Save room for dessert - specialties include cookies, their award-winning bread pudding and the icescreemer, two big warm cookies topped with ice cream, hot fudge sauce and whipped cream. -Christine A. great menu...hard to choose. many veg friendly and healthy choices. service is good. many wines and beers to choose from. (local wines! yay!)
love the baked fish fry (only fridays and wed!)
hubby likes the pods.
Pizza Plant is an excellent casual sit-down restaurant. Their pods (which are like large calzones with tons of different fillings to choose from) are delicious! If I am ever in a mood for something other than a pod, they have many other tasty menu options as well. Reasonable prices too.
This is one of those unique places that is a must go to in Western NY! You must try the pods. They are a-stuff-yourself individual size pizza rolled up like a roll. You pick all the ingredients including the type of dough. They are also the very best microbrewery and winery in the area and on weekends they always have great local bands. This is also an ideal place for a family becausse of the variety of the menu. The one on Transit has a great outdoor seating area.
We always bring newbies to Buffalo to Pizza Plant as well as Duffs (for wings).
My boyfriend and I have had long conversations about how difficult it will be to leave Buffalo and if we will EVER find another place like Pizza Plant. We've been making weekly visits to Pizza Plant for their unique pods, delicious stuffed pizzas, amazing salads (and bread bowls), fantastic appetizers, better-than-Italy Italian pasta dishes and burritos and sandwiches that would make anyone smile. The rotating micro brews on tap are a unique feature of this unprecedented restaurant. Whats better is that we are always treated like a friend. If, by chance, there is ANY mistake with your order- they happily discount it, if not give you your entire order free. They truly understand the concept of customer service and that alone has kept us coming back week after week. I am a vegetarian and my boyfriend is an avid meat eater- we both always leave satisfied. The vegetarian options on their menu are the best I've seen in Buffalo. The music (and sometimes live music) is always fantastic and fun. Pizza Plant makes for a great experience and I'd recommend it to anyone. If you're coming to Buffalo, don't forget to grab a pod and a brew at Pizza Plant!
I lived in the Buffalo area for 15 years and if you like good microbrews, this is the place, I've spent many happy hours here at both locations. They consistently have interesting beers on tap (a dozen or so? I hope I got that right), a nice mellow smoke-free family atmosphere (even before the ban), great food. I recommend buying the Draft Card, which in 2005 was $40 for 15 beers paid in advance (they punch them off as you use them). They also have tastings where brewery reps come in and provide samples of their beers and answer questions; check the site or call for the schedule.
