Description

First things first, this West Side restaurant doesn't overlook the Seine Riverit is not even near water. Nonetheless, this American bistro is quickly becoming one of Buffalo's most popular restaurants thanks to brisk word-of-mouth advertising from happy customers. It is dimly lit, a small candle and bud vase with a fresh flower adorning each table. Bold fabric drapes the windows, and the walls are cloaked in artwork. Sample entrees include carrot fettuccine tossed with shrimp, crabmeat and vegetables; and 14oz pork loin, covered with a bacon balsamic sauce.

I think these reviews over rate. The service was poor. Food was average. Tables are crammed together. Bartender was aweful while we waited for a table. Hostess or greeter was rude. I see the great reviews but in my opinion is overstated. If you are seeking a fine dining experience it's just not it. I did not think prices were out of line but I can find better food and service at so many other places in buffalo.

Left Bank is a wonderful dining experience and well worth the money for a good night out. The atmoshere is cozy, clean, romantic and modern. The bar area is very nice. The food was great! I have nothing bad to say about my experience there- I will definately be going back and recommending it to others!

Excellent food.

As other reviewers note, the food at the Left Bank is always excellent and creative. I can't think of a food experience here that was anything less than excellent. It can be loud though, especially at brunch when they have live music, in close proximity to some of the tables.

I have been frequenting Left Bank for years now and I am never dissappointed. Everything is always wonderful and FRESH!! The service is great as is the bar staff. The only place I will go for Sunday brunch is the left bank the best bloody marys! Large wine list as well.

My favorite restaurant in Buffalo. The bar area is great. My favorite things on the menu are the appitizers, ahi tuna and the fried oysters. My gf loves the portobello mushroom. The other food is good as well but I seem to fill up on the bourgeois fare before the entrees arrive. The steak and the ravioli are the best.

My rugby coach took us seniors and our dates here for our senior night...A++...perfect date spot....I wish I know of this place years ago..If you are looking to impress a lady (especially a suburb girl or young college girl) this is one of the top 3 spots to take her--and out of those 3, the most unexpected....food, serves and atmosphere are all top notch.....there are places in buffalo (and the area) like this...but not many...and this is as good as any of them

This is a great place for Sunday brunch with live music, an excellent menu and good service. Reservations are a must. The food is excellent. The only complaint is that it is noisy and sometimes difficult to hear.

My favorite!

The Left Bank is one of my favorite resturants in the world and I have travelled a bit. The decor is tasteful and the perfect atmosphere for a intimate dinner.I am in love with the carrot parpadella! I think of that dish almost daily! The service was outstanding. I would recommend this resturant to everyone, especially to out of towners as a gem in Buffalo!

Went to this restaurant on a Sunday and it was very busy, we had reservations thank goodness. We both had the pasta dishes and they were excellent, I had a seafood pasta with lobster and my husband had a pasta dish with red sauce. Both were ample and we could have shared one dish. It is a fun atmosphere and at least 2 tables were having birthday parties. Would come to this restaurant again.

Great food - always interesting and always changing. Solid wine list but not a particularly wine-savvy staff so bring your favorite wine expert with you. Billed as a French bistro, it truly feels that way. Over 50 and you'll feel a bit over the hill, but since there are few mirrors, you can pretend to be young and hip. Certainly, you will be well-fed!
