Anchor Bar climate was amazing.. But....The food was terrible!! The wings was way over cooked and it was hard and all you could taste was a burns.. My friend ordered a chicken bites and potato wedges. Bites was way over cooked and hard to chew. Potato wedge was so soggy but crispy on the outer but the inside was soo soggy and no flavor... Celery was way so old... no taste, blue cheese was soo old.. tasted sour.. I wouldnt go back there again ever....
I just returned from Canada for a wedding, but on the way there, we stopped in Buffalo. I have heard about this bar, knowing that it's the home of the buffalo wing. The line for seating was pretty long for a Friday afternoon, but we sat at the bar. The service was good, and, naturally, the wings were awesome. We also had potato skins and beef on weck....the food was amazing. If you ever want to see a piece of history, and you love wings, pop in here.
Wings were rubbery and tiny. We also tried the fish. How you can manage to burn a fish fry, I don't know but they did.
It has gone way down hill from what it used to be. Do yourself a favor, go to Duff's.Better food, more bang for the buck and better service, even when they're really busy.
Be prepared for a long wait if you go in the evening. Be prepared for a Super long wait if you go on game night! The wings are good, but often overcooked and tiny. If you don't order them with extra sauce they come with pretty much no sauce. The pizza is pretty good. The chicken wing soup was way too starchy and not enough wing flavor.
