The Globe Market carries a variety of items, including specialty gourmet foods, artisan breads, cheese, and gift baskets; however, they are best known for their cafe and take-out deli items. They have homemade soups, salads, wraps, and most notably, sandwiches. Their specialty sandwiches include roast turkey and roast beef; their turkey sandwiches are said by some to be the best in the city. Other specialties include BBQ pulled pork, a Cuban Reuben and chicken quesadilla. Vegetarians can enjoy grilled veggie and portobello mushroom sandwiches. A second location, which includes a cafe and take-out kiosk, can be found downtown at 248 Main Street.- Christine A. Smyczynski
Absolutely HORRIBLE SERVICE. Great food, however the workers are the most miserable, rude, unprofessional staff I have ever encountered. I have worked in restaurants for the greater part of my life and was always taught NEVER to be rude to a customer. But apparently, the same doesn't apply at the Globe, at least at the Main Street location.
I work for a large firm upstairs from the Main Street location and we entertain clients for lunch meetings regularly. We spend $70-90 each time. I don't just go in and spend $6 or $7 on a sandwhich once every few weeks. It is rediculous. I get horrible service EVERY SINGLE TIME.
I got repremanded for placing a large order in at noon. The woman who answered the phone warned me that I had to place a large order before noon because they are too busy to accomodate me at that time. Well lady, if I had the order before noon, I would have put it in before then. But unfortunately my schedule doesn't revolve around GLOBE'S. It would be a different story if she was nice about it, but she wasn't.
When I picked up an order today which came to almost $80, I had every intention of leaving a tip. Until, however, the man at the register continuously rolled his eyes at me and was speaking to me like I was beneath him. Then when I signed the slip leaving no tip, he grunted and rolled his eyes again. UNBELIEVABLE.
If your looking for good food at a HIGH price, I recommend Globe. If you are looking for friendly service, try somewhere else. And if you are having a great day and want it to be ruined by rude people, I most DEFINITELY recommend it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Globe Market is an awsome place to eat on Elmwood Ave in Buffalo if you want something different for your appetite. Their Caprese Sandwiches are the best! However, they have plenty of other foods to try that are awsome. They have walls full of international coffees and foods. They are a little pricey, but the experience is worth it!
