Mothers Restaurant, Buffalo

I have mixed emotions about this place. I have gone many times and the food is well worth the price. The service has always been amazing. However one night I had a reservation for 5 after we got there we were told we would have to wait for our table..ok fine it was a crowded friday happy hour. Someone else meet us there so we had 6 people, I told the hostess and she became very irrate telling me that they could not fit another person at the table. I then informed here we had a reservation and that working in the restaurant business at the time myself you should always accomdate an extra guest. Well apparently they don't like when you voice your dissatisfaction with their service, because they know better. After I got a helping of attitude I told her that was perfectly fine and i realized that she probably wouldn't care but that she could cancel my table and my patronage.

went for dinner with wife, food was okay, price was good. Service was terrible, stopped at bar after, god crowd, employees elitists. overall poorly managed establishment.

well all i have to say is whoever cooked the food should take cooking lessons..the food was nasty..get rid of your chief when you do i will come back..

We came to Mother's without a reservation on a Friday night around 5:00pm and had no wait for a table of six! Our server, Matt, was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable and attentive. We never had to wait for a refill of our drinks and he was extremely nice. The food was excellent! Will definitely come back! The tuna and mahi mahi were out of this world and the wine list was incredible. Some of the reviews state that the waitstaff are rude and the service is poor, but I can tell you it was not true on the night we went there. Definitely try to sit in Matt's section, and you won't be disappointed!

Mother's is absolutely the BEST food I have had in Buffalo. The ingerdients are fresh. The menu is diverse and creative.The wines are excellent. And there is a fantastic Single Malt menu. The only thing I found lacking at Mother's was the wait staff. They are young, beautiful, and desparately trying to be chic, but their food knowledge is limited. Their concept of fine dining service is noexistant. Their primary goal seems to be to clear you out in a hurry so they can meet their friends at the bar for shots. Mother's owners might do better to hire wait staff that are more experienced and knowledgable about food, wine and service rather than appearances. It would make for a perfect dining experience.

Mother's is my favorite restaurant in all of Buffalo. True there are many wonderful restaurants here, but there is just something about Mothers...the atmosphere is great, as well as the food and drinks! Try a pomegranate or key lime martini, or even their house wine, and I suggest the beef tournados (spelled wrong). Great date restaurant!

I've eaten in many restaurants in my 50 yrs. This is the only place I was was asked to leave after 2 hrs, because they needed the table. $200 and a 2 hour meal and they ask me to leave. plus the bread was stale. Never will eat there again.

i dont get it? I have frequented Mother's throughout the years and never had a bad experience. Food, drinks, employee's, AMBIENCE... All great. If you dont like loud music ( which is all tastefully picked) while you dine, then dont eat here. Simple as that. Its to be exspected at this popular hot spot. Its a all part of the rest.'s experience. Good food takes time. Dining should be time consuming. have a glass of their spleneded wine selection or have a great mixed drink served by the best bartender in Buffalo. Pricing is OUTSTANDING for fine food. I just dont get people. Just dont go back if you dont like it. No one is holding a gun to your head. Dont give the rest of the people looking for a great experience bad thoughts. Mothers is a great place.....

Mother's is a great place to go for an appetizer and a glass of wine. The Provence bread basket is a must (toasted baguette served with goat cheese, pesto, roasted red peppers, and kalamata olives). The shrimp fritters are good as well. The service at the bar is always excellent when you order food. If you sit in the dining room, I always order whichever fish dish is on special. I am rarely disappointed. The only issue I have is with the servers. Every time I go, somebody doesn't get what they ordered or the server is rude. They are typically very slow. Rumor has it that the late hours keep quality servers from wanting to work there. So if you can overlook bad service for great food and ambience, go to Mother's. If not, sit at the bar!
