Last night 03/24/2009 we had taken my father-in-law who was visiting from Florida to the Log Cabin for dinner. I thought it would be interesting to him because of its history and also atmospheric. There were 6 of us. I ordered the special-The salmon as did my father-in-law. Mine came frozen with sauce on it. I sent it back at that point had lost my appetite so I did not want a replacement. The waitress brought our bill and it we thought it odd that it came to 137.00 considering what we all ordered. My father-in-law insisted on paying for us and she billed the credi card. We examined the bill and noticed that she had over charged us, she never gave us the break down of the meals just the copies of the credit card receipts. We took it to the bartender. She came back and said when she could get to it, she would look into it. 20 minutes later she had come back and said she had over charged $54.06. She had already billed the credit card so she had to give the difference in cash. I felt embrassed that we out so much thought into taking my father-in-law to what used to be such a great place to enjoy a meal. Not only was the service horrible, the roasted potatoes were saturated in grease and burnt and the waitress never apologized for her mistake. It's really a shame. The Log Cabin used to be a gem.
The first time I went the food was great. The 2nd time, I was so excited for a great meal, again.. And it was just okay. I was bummed. My whole meal was just blah. But the 3 strike rule applies. Lets hope they can make amends. If not IM OUT! Love the setting, but if the food is inconsistent i wont go.
VERY BAD PLACE!!!!! Service was horrible! Food took over 1 hour to arrive, after placing order. Waitress was defensive, disrespectful in her remarks. Entree was dry, and the waitress substituted greasy fries for the side without any consultation. BAD, BAD, BAD, place.
I dont know what happened to the service at this place. It used to be one of my favorite places to go especially on a bike but last couple times there the service was a nightmare. Took an hour and 20 minutes for a single order of wings to show up!!!
Excellent food at an affordable price. Good selections of bottled beers. Restaurant overlooks a falls on the Tonawanda Creek. It's not high dinning, but it's bar food at it's best. Visited on a Wednesday night and caught 35 cent wings. Steak comes with more mushrooms than I have ever had at a restaurant! Wife had swordfish and was equally impressed.Great stop for those on bike or out in the Jeep!
wonderful, wonderful!! my husband and i just got back from a sunday drive out to the wildlife refuge and as usual, stopped at our favorite little log cabin lunch spot. this is not the ritz, but the food is always great. he had the best beef bbq ever (let me tell you....he gets it EVERYWHERE!!). i got the hot roast beef sandwich with fries and gravy. the beef was tender, and gravy perfect! as usual, we have a hard time leaving such a lovely little place, so got a wine and a beer and sat by the falls outside (knowing those kind of days are numbered)! ahhh...another great sunday with just the two of us getting away from the daily grind...PRICELESS!!!!!
This place is such a treasure! it's rustic inside as you would expect, but their inclosed sunroom eating area has about 6 tables with a front seat view of the falls! great burgers! don't go if you're in a hurry though, but wait time on food can get long sometimes. great service with a smile...between bikes/snowmobiles there's always something to look at. i love going in the summer but it's cozy in the winter too.
