Tantalus, East Aurora

The service here is terrible and the wait time for your food is ridiculous. We waited over 10 minutes to be greeted by our waitress and for her to take our drink order. The drinks took another 10 plus minutes to arrive. We figured we should place our dinner order when we ordered our appetizer because she was so slow. Good thing we did. She brought the appetizers fairly quickly but we didn t have any plates on which to place our appetizers. We had to ask for bread when she finally brought the plates for the appetizers. She brought the bread without the butter. We had to ask for the butter, which we never did get. I noticed that the tables around us were waiting awhile for their food. The couple at the next table only ate half their dinner and their bread arrived with their check. Won t be going back....

This place is horrible! Please don t waste your money. The decor is absolutely hideous. Tree bark all over the place and the candles around the window are an eyesore. I feel sorry for the cooks, extensive menu and the quality is bad. When you ask a server what they recommend they never know how to answer the questions. I went there twice and was not impressed with the service, the food and service

I would leave no stars if that was an option!!! My first time going was a bad experience from the rude service to the just average food. The hostess had no idea who was coming or going. The waiter was unable to get the orders correct and everyone plates came out at all different times. A few months later, Friend’s convinced me to check out the place again in which I found amusing because my experience was identical to the first time I was there. I will never return to this restaurant even if it were FREE. Good luck with your experience if you decide to go after reading this review.

I used to love this place! Food was always very good but that is not the only thing that makes a great dining experience. The last time we were there we had a very bad experience. I had won a $100 gift certificate for Tantalus from a Charity Golf Tournament sponsored by the Buffalo News. We were a party of 4 who came in for a light early dinner of sandwiches and some pasta. Our bill was about $35. Our waiter informed us that there would be no credit given for the remaining $65. Why would I throw away $65 ?? I asked to speak with the manager. This guy in a grubby red bandana and jeans comes over and starts yelling at us! He was so arrogant and rude I could not believe it! I showed him the certificate and it states there is no cash back but says nothing about credit. It also did not say you had to use it all at once. We paid cash for our dinners and left. A week later we went back with the certificate, all had Lobster and steak, and our bill was $101.00 We gave the waiter a big tip, and the manager $1. Just following instructions! NEVER AGAIN!!!

Tantalus is yummy!!!! I have always had nothing but a great experience while dining there. The atmosphere is unique , the menu extensive, the food is to die for!

Excellent casual atmoshere, food and service. We had a large group(30) for a dinner party and all was wonderful. They have such a unique menu and wonderful local beers and wine. I would definitely recommend!

This is my favorite resturant in EA and the area! I can't believe that there are people who say anything else...The food is amazing and the selection is vast...Why would anyone go out to dinner and order something that they could make at home??!! This place is one that everyone should visit. Try the split chiles!!

noise level is unreal, but they have the best pizza in town. All pizza should be made like that !!!
