AWEFULL! I was born in Binghamton, love the spiedies, and familiar with the area/food. Been living in...and coming down from Syracuse around xmas 2007 on route to Phil's Chicken House, I was looking for a Roma pizza that used to come to me via Endicott relatives in the 70's. Narrowed it down to Felix or Jim Roma. Wasn't sure which, might have tried both, I had to guess, this was a 1 time shot. Called Felix's, they were leaving before I could get there so I had to settle for Jim's. Felix's told me the sheet pizza they make comes in a box but Jim 's uses paper on top...well...I thought it was paper...thinking back 30 years...you know how that goes. I think both Felix's and Jim's sheet pizza came up back then so now I am really confused. Anyway, I called Jim's to get directions and several employees had no idea where they even work! Nanticock Dr...Nanticock ave...RT 26...they had me driving in circles...no one knew so I had to call back a hundred times...this problem should have tipped me off that this was the wrong place! Finally got there to pick up the sheet pizza and with 10 kids working there it took them 10 minutes to hand me the pizza I ordered an hour ago after they stared at me for 5! There's another bad sign! Got home and tried it, it was huge, but tasted awefull. I saw maybe an ounce of cheese and a gallon of the most bland pizza sauce I have ever had on the whole sheet. I had several people try it and all said...PASTY! Like the dough was not even cooked! Must be a local taste down there but to us...it was awefull and not the pizza I used to eat years ago brought to me by Endicott relatives...It must have been the other Roma...Felix! It had a special unique taste and Jim Roma's was definitely not it! So, the only good thing about Jim Roma's sheet pizza is it is HUGE...bad things are POOR SERVICE...u get a DROP OF CHEESE on it...sauce is BLAND LIKE TOMATO SAUCE OUT OF A HUNTS CAN...and the worst dough ever had...UNCOOKED AND DOUGHY AND PASTY...not sure if this was done by accident or on purpose...either way...NOT GOOD! Now I know the reason why Jim Roma's has no web site and Felix Roma's does!
Their pizza would taste good if it wasn't lukewarm and soggy. Seven months after our first try at Roma's, I gave their pizza another shot. Watching them pull an uncovered tray of pizza from the unheated rack beside the oven was the first turn-off. The second came from watching the girl snip through the floppy sheet pizza with a pair of large, gooey shears. She squeezed my slices into wax paper, stuffed them into a small brown bag. I was handed a gooey, leaking bag of pizza promised to stain and destroy anything it touched. Good thing I hadn't brought my car.
Roma's subs (with very limited toppings) and baked goods are pretty average. Their pizza, however, continues to give me every reason to stay away.
