While visiting Postdam on May 20, 2011 we had the misfortune to visit Mama Lucia's restaurant for a family dinner.
For our appetizer, we were treated to a very hot plate and stone cold stuffed mushrooms. Unfortunately, we were so hungry after driving all day that we ate them instead of just leaving.
For our salads, we were served rusted and slimy, rotted lettuce. The tomatoes still had the green stems attached.
My Veal Parmesan was very thin and badly overcooked. Rubber is the word that comes to mind.
My wife's Shrimp & Lobster Alfredo was a true nightmare. The shrimp tasted like chlorine and was obviously well passed its due date. The lobster taste fishy and the pasta was undercooked. She actually became physically ill an hour after we left this train wreck of a restaurant.
We asked to speak to the owner "chef" but this incompetent cook was too cowardly to come to speak to us, even though we saw him in the restaurant within 100 feet of us. He preferred to throw his served under the bus.
The final straw was when the bill arrived and he attempted to charge us for the salads we could not eat & sent back as well as my wife's entree, which was also sent back, practically untouched.
The items were finally removed from the bill but not until our served visited the kitchen several times.
Our server, who in addition to the bread, was the best part of the attempted meal, was highly embarrassed and apologized continually.
I would recommend that anyone and everyone avoid this restaurant. While an improperly prepared dish can happen in any restaurant, an avalanche of bad food and a total disregard for the customer is the sign of an establishment ripe for a visit from Gordon Ramsey of Kitchen Nightmares.
