The Towpath Inn was nothing short of fabulous! Yes, the lodge rooms were rustic looking to say the least, but they were clean, comfortable and toasty warm. What makes the Towpath so great is not even the fact you are a couple short minutes hike to Snowridge and can ski right from the slopes to your room. Its the innkeepers and lodge. Greg and Jen (new owners) along with their family help were like family! The lodge was cozy and cool looking, has a great bar, great prices and the prime rib was a DELICOUS steal! Food was truly homemade great, beer was cheap and cold (but need some dark beer! :) and a great guitarist Saturday evening. Super friendly locals show up ever evening to add to the fun. We never left the property except to ski. Best winter vacation ever at a bargin price.
My husband and I were recently married in Turin NY, and we had a wonderful time! We booked the whole Towpath Inn for our friends and family who thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The restaurant and lounge were the perfect setting for the casual gathering we held the night before as well as the all of our nutritional needs throughout the weekend. We were able to play guitar and socialize in an inviting and fun atmosphere. Brad and Dorothy (the owners) and the rest of the staff were wonderful and accommodating to all of our guests. The ski slope of Snowridge and snowmobile trails are right outside the door, which allowed all of our guests to take advantage of whatever there outdoor preference may be. For those indoor people the cozy couch and wood stove made for a relaxing day. We highly recommend visiting the Towpath, and will definitely be back soon!
Thanks Brad, Dorothy, and everyone at the Towpath for wonderful memories!
We arrived at the Towpath with reservations and we were greeted by a surly bartender. This didn't make us feel welcomed at all! Our waitress was excellent and although very busy still remained pleasant and professional. I would return for the great desserts and service. I hope the bartender has improved her attitude for the owner's sake. She could damage this potentially thriving restaurant.
