Danzer's German & American Restaurant
Danzer's German & American Restaurant was established in 1946 and takes pride in having served homecooked German meals to Central New Yorkers for over five decades. Ludwig Danzer's tradition is still being carried out today with hearty portions of homemade German specialties, tall drafts of imported beers and ales, and those giant deli sandwiches that have made Danzer's famous.
Although the rugs look like they have never been cleaned in 40 years, the food is really good and an ample amount, as well. There tosted cheese sandwiches r the best I ever had! Their squeeky swinging door to the kitchen is a bit annoying, but a bit of white grease should take care of that. I recommend you try it!
I had dinner this evening and I was really let down. I was looking for a real German meal and it was anything but German. I had a jagerschnitzel the sauce was nothing like the German sauces, it came with rice which was crisp from being re-cooked along with mixed vegetables that were mushy from being over cooked. The inside of the restaurant had an unpleasant odor at the booth area. I would not recommend this rest except for the beer. This is the first time I have ever written a review but everyone should know if you are looking for a good German meal you better find a different place. It is a shame that Weber’s in Syracuse had to close because their food was real German food and it was really good.
This resturant has never failed to satisfy all the appitites in my family. The portions are generous and delicious.
They have a great variety on their menu and their daily specials are always pleasing especially when paired with one of their imported German beers.
