Ichiban Japanese Steakhouse invites you to visit us for a delightful dining experience. Serving CNY Since 1975! Our experienced hibachi chefs will entertain and delight you with their masterful cooking at your table. Or enjoy creations by our experienced sushi chefs including your favorites like maguro or California Roll, or more unusual temptations such as dragon roll. Our teriyaki and tempura will make your mouth water, and for those who can't join us for an evening, we offer take-out on most of our items.
Sadly, Ichiban has sat on their reputation. The show was wonderful if that was what you pay such a high price for don t bother attending. The food was predictable and mono-toned. Except for texture (the only way to tell the difference) everything from the chicken, steak, lobster, tasted the same. There was a trail of sauce from, the hibachi grill to our plates, along with whatever seasoning he was throwing on the food. Unless you devour your food quickly while the show is still on, the waitress are constantly checking up to see if you are done not so gently urging you to leave(once the bill has been presented, of course). After being a consumer for almost 30 years I will take my money elsewhere.
I think the restaurant is excellent. The staff are very friendly and the seafood platter, teriyaki steak, and shumai are excellent. Thus far I cannot try anything else because I alternate between the 2 entrees. If you like Japanese check it out.
This is the best place in the greater syracuse area to eat!! I eat there at least twice a month. Excellent service and food!! If you never have been there id make a reservation and go asap!! You wont regret it!!!
I have been eating at this restaurant for thirty years. It is a wonderful experience each and every time. The food is great, the service is great and it is a great show for adults and kids. It is not just a meal but a wonderful night out.
Over rated. When this first opened it was great. I was there with 6 people, more fried rice made than anything and the smoke from the grill was horrible. The chef was not friendly and the food reflected it.
The Ichiban hibachi chefs give customers a show. The hibachi dinners are in the $20 price range and come with rice, veggies and soup. A hibachi meal is excitingly chopped and cooked before your eyes. However, the food itself is not terribly interesting. Raw pieces of unseasoned meat, shellfish and veggies are grilled with oil and some soy sauce. The one non-hibachi dish we had off the menu was Americanized - essentially chicken fingers. The sushi is of typical take-out quality. Presentation and atmosphere bring a three star meal up to four. Recommendation: go with a large group of fun coworkers, or kids.
If you like dinner and a show, then this place is for you! Request a table with a grill (i think) and enjoy the show. You are seated at a large table, if your party is small you are seated in combination with another party. Orders are taken and then a wonderful Japanese chef comes over with his grill and knives and puts on show. Twirling shrimp and spinning eggs bring the saliva to a head... The food is much more than you can eat - the atmosphere is radiant - and the price - expectable and affordable for a wonderful dinning experience.
