I've known about Mother's Cupboard for years, but until now, I've never been. I always knew it was a greasy spoon on the outskirts of town near the railway tracks. I heard they had good fish, and I always try to get it on Friday, so I decided to have a go at it.
They're known for having these mammoth pancakes so if you eat one or two of them, you get your picture on the wall. They also have these thick fritatas.
The soda they serve is neither Pepsi or Coke, but generic drinks from Dr Pepper/7up. I find that ocassionally.
As for the fish, I give it 3.5 stars. I had the homefries for a change of pace.
This place is small, and there can be a wait at peak hours. They close at 1.30.
If you live or pass through Syracuse, you owe it to yourself to try Mother's at least once.
The mother cupboard is definetly a place I would recomend. The food comes out quick, cheap and in huge portions! They're a very small place with a lot of characters. Over all a great place to stop and get a quick bite to eat.
