my favorite place to eat in lake george. filet au poivre with a side of broiled scallops and rice, mmmmmmm, so good. salad bar isn't that great even though some think it's the best thing goin. atmosphere is great. the bar area is super cozy, absolutely awesome place to visit in the fall or winter but of course the summer is when it's rockin. make reservations, this place gets packed!

I love this place..the rustic breads, the warm decoration, the food, the prices and the big fireplace..I wish they had one closer to my house in New York...

Love it

The food is great, as is the salad bar. The prices are good, the atmosphere is lovely, and the service has always been great. I've gone here a bunch and it never fails to disappoint.

I have been going here for years and although it's not as good as it once was, it's still pretty good. The salad bar is awesome (and clean), soups are homemade and sandwiches are also good. It's a place you have to go to at least once.

Amazing!
By Jaden, 5/27/07
I went to the Log Jam on birthday and absolutley loved it. It's like a small log cabin with a restaurant inside. Food is a little pricey but for a special occasion, I feel like it's well worth it. The shrimp scampi is very delicious. A salad bar is served with entrees. I would thoroughly stuffed by the end. Will go again!

A wonder venue with spotty food
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/20/07
The service and atmosphere were first class. The beef was served barely warm and overdone. Over all experience was a bunch of $$$ for bad food.

Very Nice Steak Restaurant, a little pricey
By Erin, 2/14/06
If you like steaks and salad bars, this is a really lovely restaurant. The ambience of the restaurant is very rustic, yet warm and elegant. The service is friendly. You won't find any haute cuisine here, or fancy display. This is more of a traditional steak house restaurant, old school. There are fieldstone fireplaces in the back dining room and bar/lounge, and a beautiful garden room in the front. The foyer offers a toasty potbelly woodstove. The floors are rough-hewn pine. Bear paw prints mark the way to the salad bar, for those who may become disoriented by the layout of the dining rooms. Some of the desserts are inhumanly enormous, so be sure to ask your server about portion sizes before you make your choice. Dinner prices are fairly expensive, but not out of line for this type of restaurant. It is WAY nicer than any of the chain steak houses, and suitable for special occasions. It is located on Rte. 9, in the heart of the Million Dollar Half Mile section of Lake George, where all the retail outlet stores are, a few miles south of Lake George Village. While it is conveniently located, it can be difficult to pull out onto Route 9 southbound during the annual Americade motorcycle rally, and during "peak" summer months. Be sure to make reservations ahead of time. You may not be able to get a table without one, especially during peak season and during the holidays. The fact that it is sometimes tough to get in here speaks to the ambience and quality of food there, generally. The average diner would not scrutinize things quite as much as I do. I happen to be a gourmand, and therefore I would say their food batting average is about 85% great, and 15% needs improvement.

one of my favorites
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/28/06
The log jam is one of my favorite resteraunts. The food is excellent and I love the adirondack ambiance. Although it's a great place to go anytime the winter is especially cozy.
