I have a friend that lived in Japan. We were talking about Sushi and he said that this was hands down the best around, and it was authentically Japanese. Well.... sure, I said I'd try it. I had my own favorite, but... I still love my other favorite, but this is by far the best Sushi I've had. It is artistic and pretty and extremely well done! What I've had in other places seems a little more westernized than this was. Truly outstanding!
I love this place! I've been here twice. The second time I drove to NYC from north of Albany and made a side trip to go here, it's that good. Very authentic Japanese food and atmosphere. Excellent prices on sushi and food.
This is the only Japanese-owned and operated Japanese restaurant in the Mid-Hudson valley. Most of the others are run by people from other countries who apparantly are not as concerned about procuring authentic ingredients for their menus. For example, the quality of the rice (the staple of most Japanese dishes) is far above its competitors. I think they must pay a little more for those ingredients but it sure is worth it.
