Yobo is my favorite restaurant. The sushi is the best I have ever had. I recommend the Rosemaki and Volcano Roll. The Peking Duck is also excellent. The staff are freindly and the atmosphere is terrific.
Pleasant and helpful waitstaff, and I have eaten here several times. Perhaps there is a new chef, because the food has become increasingly bad. Fried spider roll arrived at the table ice cold, and when I complained to the waiter, an obnoxious and rude woman, appeared at my table to tell me that my food was NOT COLD. I believe she was the manager/owner? She told me it had been sitting, while my friend's food was being prepared, and that it why it wasn't HOT. I know COLD from ROOM TEMPERATURE.....this food was cold, and I didn't appreciate her confrontation and comments. My new spider roll was stale tasting, and smelled and tasted of rancid, old oil. I sent back my uneaten roll again, and the manager WOULD NOT remove a $12.95 charge from the bill for my horrible food. It is obvious that someone needs a refresher course on how to treat their customers......FOR $12.95, THREE CUSTOMERS WILL NEVER RETURN.
I am a very forgiving sushi lover -- been to many not necessarily incredible sushi places but have never felt remotely disappointed the way I did with this restaurant. I can't say how the rest of the food is but with regard to the sushi don't even think of going here. The portions were tiny and many things were insultingly over priced. The fish was old, poorly cut and even dried out around the edges! Seriously, I was stunned that that is what I got for $31!
The $5 miso soup hardly resembled the traditional nice miso soup found at most Japanese restaurants. Instead, it was an oily concoction filled with unidentified deep fried nuggets. Wow again.
Don't eat here -- truly awful!
I would say this is no where near my favorite sushi joint but it's good. A little on the more expensive side for the typical rolls/sushi/sashimi. Nice little bar to hang out in if you wanted a drink before/after a meal.
