Delicious, well-portioned food! You really get your money's worth. Fresh home made bread is an absolute bonus!! Everything we had was super tasty and better than we expected. This is really my kind of place. Warm, laid back and cozy. I came in hungry and left satisfied. What more could you ask for? Thank you for a great meal, guys.
Stoped by on a whim as we were driving home to Gardiner.
GF and I loved this place. Fantastic Fresh Clean Food.
Her seafood dish with the Bow Tie pasta was real.
My Skirt steak was perfectly perfect. Medium Rare
The Bread basket was remarkably FRESH, OUT OF THE OVEN.
We will be back.
Thank You so much.
The service was awful and the waiter was rude, rude, rude! The food was awful. We tried to be cheerful as everyone including chefs and waiters have a bad night. But the waiter got defensive and downright nasty when we had to send back unedible fare. I will never go there again.
What a delicious meal! We couldn't be happier to finally find a wonderful local restaurant in Kerhinkson, with a laid back atmosphere, and an incredibly fresh farm-to-table approach to local dining. Especially at this time of year, the bounty of locally harvested produce is featured prominently in every delectable dish! Both the butternut squash and green pea soups were melt in your mouth delicious, and the gorgonzolla-stuffed sirloin with mushrooms and fingerling potatos was absolutely succulent. The fig tart for dessert was beyond compare, even though it was hard to save room after eating more than my fair share of the homemade bread basket with herb butter. Bart is an incredible chef, which is obvious by the well-prepared, simple and abundant plates he serves each season. What made our dining experience even more enjoyable was our attentive host who greeted each guest and made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. The unhurried pace of our meal, and the easy comfortable conversation that filled the dining room made the whole experience that much better - you know when you're in a place where people are enjoying good food and each other's company, it's easy to see why patrons keep coming back. After dinner we stretched our legs with a brandy and some pool in the bar area, and guests were still arriving for dinner when we left at 9:00. I can see why this has become one of Kerhonkson's most valuable local natural resources to enjoy great local food and company. My husband and I can't wait to come back!
the food is fabulous, the prices reasonable, the portions appropriate and the atmosphere charming. we love the slow pace and lack of being rushed through our meal.
not only is the menu creative, but it is also delicious and offers a wide enough selection. we only wish oscar was next door to us - we'd go every night!
I have been to this restaurant many times with my husband and we have absolutely loved it. Not only do my husband and I go often, but so do all of our friends. We are both greatful to have something in Kerhonkson that can offer some great fresh food with wonderful taste and class. They have a great selection of beer on tap, along with local breweries so we can support our community. Their dishes are fantastic and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Oscar Restaurant is 'overly expensive' with sloppy service, slow attendants and under sized portions with a high price tag. We have been to Oscars three times and that was three times too many. We waiting at the door for eight (8) attendants to walk by and say we'll be right with you. They walked by with pitchers of water, eating utensils and little else. Why no one could seat us was not explained.
When we got seated, we waited about the same amount of time for our server to come over and give us stale bread, two coffees and some water. The food was cold and when we questioned the menu saying a Cajun Burger and Grayfish paddy, “where is the grayfish paddy?” They said it was mixed into the Cajun Burger. So ‘where was the beef?” A huge piece of lettuce that hide our plates, three slices of tomato and a fifty cent size burger style paddy cost $12.00, so you can figure out how much the lasagna cost.
If we never go back to this joint it will be too soon.
