My Linh is 'fusion' food. I've been passing by this place for the past 3 years and finally went in the other day. I got worried when I started reading the sparse menu and was really worried when I finally gave my order. Surprisingly our food was amazing. We ordered an appetizer (shrimp and lettuce rolled in sticky rice wrapping with a plum sauce) and I ordered white rice with jumbo shrimp (one of their specials). My friend ordered fried shrimp and scallops with noodles (sorry I can't remember the names). The appearance was beautiful and the taste was amazing. Huge portions for the entrees and unique flavors. A little pricey but I guess that's why it's a 'special little restuarant'.
Albany doesn't have many Vietnamese restaurants. Therefore, My Linh probably attracts customers by default. And for people unfamilar with this cuisine, My Linh might be quite acceptable.
As for me, I will simply wait until my next trip to Manhattan because My Linh is completely forgetable (except in the sense that we must all learn from our mistakes). Also, just over the border in Pittsfield, Mass., The Dragon Restaurant serves good Vietnamese food.
What a great secret on Delaware ave. Food is excellent and so FRESH. I have tried many different entrees and each has it's own unique Flavor. MMM Lemon grass, mint and other flavors make the food so delicious. Martini's and appetizers in the deck is a treat too. Try this special restuarant, you won't be dissappointed
