Ichiban Restaurant, Albany

My first experience was not a good one. I ordered sushi and steamed dumplings and was very dissapointed. They were the smallest dumplings I had ever seen and were very soggy(they fell apart once dipped in soy sauce). The sushi at Colonie Center mall was better than this. Still, I have heard great things about their Chinese and will try it one more time.

I'm a fan of Ichiban. Great service, good portions and I love the soups. I recommend their lunch specials, their general tso's chicken and their Red Bean Delight ice cream.

Eat here all the time- I always order from the lunch menu, and I LOVE it. The portions are big (I always end up wrapping up half), I love their crab rangoon, and their wonton soup. The staff is very friendly, and they are very good about asking about refills and such. It's become my favorite place to get Chinese, love it!!

Sushi is ok, but definitely not the best around. As far as quality of fish, I would say it's only average as well. Nothing impressive about this either one of their Albany locations. In the Albany area, Yoshi Sushi (Latham), Tokyo Sushi (Colonie) and Koto (Colonie) definitely have this place beat.

For a quick sushi lunch, I find their food to be high quality and always prepared the same way. That being said, it’s not a cheap lunch and the variety is basically a lot of the same things with a different twist to it. All and all, if your looking for good sushi lunch and don’t mind spending a bit extra, it’s a good place. Everyone has different tastes, it's at least worth a try...

This place is not as great as everybody is making it out to be. The chinese is definitly better than any other chinese restaurant in Albany but their sushi...not so much. I feel most of their fish is not so fresh. Their sushi rollers aren't very experienced either...way too much rice in the rolls. After trying a couple of other Japanese places around the area, I've retired Ichiban from my list. Try Sushi Yoshi or Miyako Japanese Steakhouse instead. 6/4/2007 Quality of chinese food has gone down as well. A total of 3 shrimp in my 'SHRIMP and broccoli' dish...woohoo...

Ichiban is my favorite restaurant for sushi in Albany, NY. I order for delivery every Friday night. The delivery drivers are FAST and they never mess up my orders. The SUSHI, miso soup, and egg rolls are fantastic!!!!! I crave it every week!!!! I can't wait to get some tonight!!!!! SUSHI Delight.

Ichiban is definately the best chinease food place in albany. The spring rolls are amazing. They are the only chinease food i like to eat. The prices are pretty good 2.
