They call themselves the 18 Wheeler, locals call them the Truckstop in the Port. This is a real deal truckstop resturant, something that is hard to find in the Albany area. It is located within the Port of Albany.
I'm not sure if they really ever close. Been there at all times of the day. Prices are very reasonable. I think their top end meal is a T-Bone steak dinner platter for $15. Most everything is well under $10. The food is American stick to your ribs fare. Portions are generous.
You can get breakfast anytime of the day or night. For that matter, I think you can do the same with dinner. Expect the guy at the table beside of you to be a genuine trucker chowing down before his next trip!
Don't let its inexpensive prices throw you. The food is very tasty. Waitstaff is from the bottom half of the barrel. Their service is not bad, but don't expect them to engage you in pleasantries either. If you want to eat and run, sit at the counter. Otherwise they will assume that you are cooling your heels.
Portions were huge! Prices not as cheap as listed below, but it is almost 2 years later. Service was good! SO got a sausage, cheese and onion omlette that took up more than half the plate! I ordered corn beef hash, but they were out of it (???? on a weekend), so I only had an english muffin. I detest eggs! Coffee was good too! Would have gotten 4 or 5 stars if hash had been in and the homefries need a little kick or something-very bland.
