You will never go wrong when eating at Gus's. Everything is fabulous for a fast food establishment. great food, fast personal, friendly service with top quality food. GREAT!!

Gus's is a legend in local gastronomy, serving little hot dogs, fat little burgers and sausage and pepper sandwiches for decades. It's no frills here, you can eat inside or out on a picnic table outside, preferably. The greek dogs are legendary, on par with the equally legendary Famous Lunch across the River in Troy. The burgers are charred little numbers with ketchup, and for some reason, chopped onions. Sausage and peppers are like $1.20. Cheap eats and reliable service. GUS ROCKS!

I went here several times while at college in Troy, NY. The food is very greasy, hot dogs are the size of my thumb, and the hamburgers are made from the cheapest ground beef. Sausage burgers are a little better but greasy. With that out of the way... this place is a must stop for a quick bite. Hot dogs are about 50 cents each, hamburgers are $1... etc. The menu is limited but that just means you have to order like a local. 3 dogs with sauce, one burger with the works, a soda, and maybe a bag of chips. You can eat here like a king for 3 or 4 bucks. It is common during lunch/dinner for people to pick up large boxes full of food for their family/friends. Try the meat sauce. It is an interesting concoction kinda like chili but drier. If you are a neat freak who can't eat at a dingy, dirty old place... stay away. I think the location and condition of the hot dog stand gives the food even more character.

You won't find a better hotdog in the state of New York than Gus's. Not only is the food great but the neighborhood ambiance is unsurpassed. Gus's is always the 1st stop on my yearly eating tour of the Capitol District.

I used to go this place years ago when I was young and they have the best, juiciest burgers in the capital region! I still think they're the best. Definitely worth a try. The prices are totally affordable, so its good taste will not burn a hole in your pocket!
