We went to the Emerald Isle to follow the fiddler's convention of which this little jewel in Waterford served as host for a month. What a great place it turned out to be. The food - all wonderful tavern stuff was very good , the service attentive, the grey haired host whom I assume to be Kielty himself a charmer. A nice bunch of patrons too. A little cramped for room and sometimes the delicious and reasonable nightly specials get sold out if you come late. In my mind the place is somewhat of a compensation for the the slow loss of the South End Tavern in south Troy which seems to be slipping by degrees but that is another story and sad. This place is full of promise. Good luck to them!
