The lasagna was awful, soggy, overcooked and no meat!! . The lobster raviolis were so thin you couldn't taste a shred of lobster. Just not good. Two out of a party of three couldn't eat their meal. I told the waitress i was not happy with my meal and she did nothing.
After my husband and I were seated we sat for 15 minutes before a waitress came. I guess Hubies does not employ bus staff. We were not offered water, bread or even a drink. There was what we thought was a hostess that stared at us and our empty table for that initial 15 minutes but no light bulb ever came on. Once we got our wine and placed our orders it took yet another 10 minutes before the bread arrived. The bread was awful and did not resemble anything Italian. By now I had a splitting headache. When the salad arrived the dressing was quite good. The pasta was also good and the Delmonico steak, after I cut away the giant amount of fat, was also tasty. The coffee was horribly burnt and no dessert was ever offered. I have always been a generous tipper but this waitress received the worst tip I have ever given. The few positive things about our experience can not be outweighed by the negative ones and I would never return to Hubie's ever again.
Well, I live in Middleburgh and often I go to Hubie's for lunch.
They are friendly for the most part, and they have really good food.
However, they do not accept cards...which is a problem in many different ways, and limits their customers.
They also should take the size of their restaurant into consideration. It is a good size for a REALLY small town, however Middleburgh is growing. Therefore, they need to expand their premises and open up more seating, that is more comfortable.
I give it a 4/5
We decided to try out Hubies Restaurant because we heard so many good things about the place. We are new to the area and walked around town and was impressed with the shops they had downtown. But this review is about Hubies. The food was ok but not great. Two things disappointed us and those two things will stop us from going to this establishment again. I don't know what it is about this town but no one in Middleburgh accepts credit cards. For a restaurant to not accept credit cards/bank cards in 2008 is ludicrous. There aren't many people that carry around cash anymore. Plastic is where its at these days. One of us had to leave to find an ATM while the other stayed and put in the order. If your not going to accept credit cards/bank cards then have an ATM machine put on the premises. Get with the times. The next thing that turned us off was the snobby and uptight waitress we had. She disappeared once we got our food and never came back around to ask if we wanted our glasses refilled of soda or water or if we wanted anything else. We don't know who the waitress was but she had short blond hair. Not customer friendly at all and it showed. The two person tables are cramped and not much room on the table so there was always something in the way. We decided to see about take out menus from the pizza shop and lo and behold NO MENU'S. We weren't surprised after the lack of poor customer relations we got from the restaurant side of the establishment. Come on doesn't anyone care about customer service anymore. That and the food brings customers back again and again. But when the wait staff is snobby and not customer friendly why go there again. Count us out and we definitely will pass on our poor experience to our friends/family and anyone else looking to see what we have to say about Hubies.
Judging from Monster's Review, I would have to say I totally disagree with their review. Very bitter. Hubie's has a wonderful atmosphere and the food is just as nice! The pizza has a bit of a zing to it which makes it more appealing. Definately if you're in town go check out their food ! Not a waste of your money at all!
