Pinnacle Restaurant & Motel, Caroga Lake

Well, here goes. The wife and I were looking for someplace different to go to celebrate my birthday. Being in an area with many good restaurants, we decides to try the Pinnacle. Some friends did recommend it and said the view was very nice. My sister and her boyfriend decides to tag along. I had made a reservation for 5:30 on a Friday evening. My first clue should have been the fact that there were only two other vehicles parked in the lot. One belonged to the chef and the other to the waitress. I ordered a shrimp cocktail appetizer that tasted like it had just been thawed out. Dripping wet and very rubbery. On to the salads. I've never experienced a warm tossed salad.....until tonight. Why anyone would take a salad out of the refrigerator and leave it on the counter for ten minutes and then serve it is far beyond me. On to the entrees. My sis' boyfriend ordered a strip steak well done. That's what he got. Pretty uneventful. My sis ordered the stuffed sole. One bite and it is cold in the center. My wife ordered the chicken cordon bleu. I've always thought that this dish was made with swiss cheese. Not here. For some reason this chicken breast was stuffed with ham and what looked to be unmelted american cheese. The hollandaise sauce that was suppose to cover the chicken was little more than a tasteless, orange/yellow mixture of I don't know what. Lastly, I ordered the linguini with white clam sauce. This was not bad. NOT great but, It was edible. It appeared to be little more than linguini with a can of clams and some parsley on top. I felt bad for our waitress. She tried her best and did a good job. The entire time we were there, not another soul came in to dine. Only one gentleman who was sitting at the bar. This is sad because the place has a ton of potential. They need to hire someone who knows how to prepare food and has a passion for it and then get the word out. At this time, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.
