the food is fresh, the waitstaff friendly, everyone is helpful.
however, the fries are not the best. and whatever oil they use to fry the french fries and onion rings in leaves a really bad film on the mouth, thick and yucky. maybe they should switch oils or maybe the oil is old when they are cooking in it. I think baking the fries would be better and using a fry that is a nice thick potato is better.
@ Daniel-Who do you think you are????? You have absolutely no decorum whatsoever!!!! These lovely people break their backs every single day to service the public with the best food on Long Island!!! They always treat every single customer like family!! Grow up and get a life!!! Or better yet find another place to work where you can fall again and maybe this time it will give you enough sense in your miniscule brain to tell the truth for a change!!! Have a nice life!!!!
Well...Had din there many times with great success..Last night NOT SO GOOD...WATCH what you order...A cheeseburger is just a cheeseburger.....NOT a cheeseburger deluxe......I guess he was trying to inflate his check average???? The kids meal only come with dessert from the right side of the menu NOT the LEFT SIDE....3.25 for jello is alot when it has a CRUSTY HARD top to it...Chocolate pudding was NO better....The 2 kids desserts where more then their entree....
Like I said have eaten here many times before with great service and food...LAST NIGHT MUST HAVE BEEN A BAD NIGHT!!!!!
I'm not shocked by what Daniel said, I have heard some stories about Spiro, not so muck Kay though. But is iy any different in any working enviroment on LI? Not really. I've worked in A LOT of restaurants and its always the same story. I have never had a bad experience there as a customer, and the food has always been delisious! However, as of late, their prices have gone through the roof and their portions have gotten smaller. We walked out three weeks ago when
i wanted to order a salad that I ordered many times was $14.00. Sorry guys, I love yu but can't afford you anymore.
i use to work there , if you think they care , think again , there only worried about the cash register ,i worked there 3 yrs and was hurt on the job, i had to get a lawyer to fight them , i was told how good a waiter i was , blah, blah, blah, but when hurt on job, they turned on me in court ,telling the court i was a trouble maker , lousy waiter , but was there 3 yrs??? they lost ,justice prevailed spiro, kay, night manager lied in court, kay is impossible to work for , spiro tends to curse n scream at the help, why they have a big turn over in help ,due to kay and spiro ,there food is ok , if you saw the cooks line ,you would think twice about eating there, they only care about the money ,not you, you should here comments after you leave???you be surprised
I like that the owners and staff treat you like family. Since we live nearby we do go there often and they always make a point of coming over to us and saying hello and asking how we are doing and making sure that we are happy with the food. Breakfast is typical diner food. Very good. I haven't been there for lunch too often, so I don't really know. They have very good dinner meals. They have a whole flounder meal that can compare to any seafood restaurant.
The only downside is that when they are busy, it can take a while to get a seat and then to get your food.
