This place is GROSS! At first glance and taste.. seems good. I ate here and heard a clicking noise. As I got us the man behind the counter had a NAIL CLIPPER next to him!! (That was the clicking sound!!)
I went out to dinner for an early fathers day celebration with a group of friends. Food was very good, service ok... but they forgot to cook my dinner. I was told would be out in 5 minutes... it came out in 20 and I ate by myself while everyone else was on dessert. They offered me a free beverage... what a poor start to my fathers day weekend.
One of the best places to get Italian food around. Service can be a little slow, but the food is always worth waiting for and the family that runs it is very nice. If you are looking for a great place for an Italian meal or just some pizza, look no further!
AWESOME PLACE AND FANTASTIC FOOD: The owner is often around visiting with patrons, and he did all the work himself! The entire restaurant is absolutely gorgeous and the food is amazing! Great prices, awesome environment.....I would go back again and again!
This is a great little restaurant that deserves your patronage - I've been here four times with friends over the last year and every time I am impressed with the food, the service and the atmosphere. Now the back patio has been landscaped with a walk and with areas laid out for outdoor dining - I can't wait for the warm weather to settle in so we can eat 'al fresca'!
The staff is friendly and attentive, never rushed. Each meal I have had is excellent, my favorite so far is the penne with rapini & garlic but the puttanesca was great and so was the rustic pasta with mushrooms, onions, and bacon (I don't remember the Italian name for it, unfortunately).
If there is anything to complain about, it's that the menu is extensive and so you can change your mind ten times before they come to take your order. But it doesn't really matter because I have a feeling anything you get will be good.
To sum up, this is a great local place, unpretentious, inexpensive, and with hearty food - relax and enjoy!
I have been there twice and have had two different experiences. The first time was early in the summer of 2005. That first meal was quite enjoyable. I was served an excellent chicken/pasta dish with good service at a good price. However, the second visit was not as enjoyable...not because of the food, but because of a confusing (and possibly) misleading menu. Eat there, but be careful when you order calzones that go for $4.95. What the menu represents and what the bill will show will be vastly different. I would recommend Partos to anyone who is hungry while in Riverhead, however, I would certainly ask more questions before ordering.
