The Oar Steak and Seafood Grill, Patchogue

I was taken here by my brother for my birthday. I won t say how far past 50 I am now, though I m not 60 years old, yet. But I ve been around a while, and I ve just had the best steak of my life. Their Porterhouse (for two - it s a much better deal than for one. I won t tell the exact prices, but the for 2 is a lot less when split). The steak my brother and I got was nothing short of amazing. It was maybe 8 or 9 by, say, 5 , and quite thick - the 2 of us were stuffed at the end. The side of the bone that I started out on turned out to be the better side - the other side was still better than any steak I ve ever had, but the side I started on, which had 0 grizzle, and was totally melt-in-your-mouth, and savory, but with several carefully balanced flavors competing; nothing overpowering. The best job of marination I think I ve ever tasted. And probably the best cut of meat, as well. And the vegtables were also superb; quite fresh and expertly cooked. And a very decent musician playing guitar and singing (quite well, actually, once his voice got warmed up). Overall an extremely pleasant experience.
