Lorenzillo's, Cancun

This was not our favorite dining experience in Cancun. The location and the views were great but the food was a bit disappointing. Not terrible, but not up to expectations, especially for the price. Given the other options in the area, we would not likely go back there.

Greatest view in Cancun - ambiance is wonderful, friendly staff, fantastic food. Yes it is pricey but the best their is in the city for real seafood ala' Mexican. Crab soup was wonderful. We always have the carribbean lobster. it is NOT Maine lobster, but delicious in it's own right.

The atmosphere of the place was great! The service was excellent! The food was pretty good but it was extremely overpriced. The aftermath was terrible. I has the battered shrimp and the next day I was throwing up was sick for the rest of my trip. It was a really fun place to go to. I would recommend it if the price was lower and the quality and service was a better.

title says it all. tourist trap. good news was that it jump started my diet as i couldnt eat for 3 days afterward.

Worst meal in Cancun: The lobster was tough, overcooked, and dry on March 6th, 2009. The waiter,standing with his buddies at the bar, never once returned to ask how our food was. While eating bread, I bit down on something hard, and found 4 (1 inch diameter)pieces of lobster shell blended into the bread butter in the custard dish. I had to walk the butter dish to the waiter and ask for a replacement. We received neither apology nor credit nor offer to redo the lobster. Worst meal and the worst value of any meal we have had in all 4 of our trips to Cancun. We believe Lorenzillo's is highly over-rated. However, the key lime pie was o.k. If you want good food in a romantic setting, try the Blue Bayou at the Hyatt Cancun Caribbe across the street from Lorenzillos, which has seafood dishes and $20 fillet mignon.

We haven't been there in 3 years but after reading other reviews i thought i should give mine..i've eaten there 3 times and the food ,the ambiance the service, etc was the best!! the first time we were there we even saw a crocodile-a very large one! just an awesome experience!

We had a very romantic dinner outside by the water. The food wa amazing and the people were great!!!! Made my birthday wonderful!! And it's a very beautiful restaurant....

Ambiance was really relaxing and beautiful. Food was the BEST!! Went to Cancun in 2003. Was my best vacation ever!! This restaurant was definitely one of the best highlights!! Loved it, and hope I can go back someday.

Avoid all the American knock-offs and go to a great seafood resturaunt. Stick to fresh fish and lobster, not farm raised salmon. Go to Seattle for salmon, not Cancun. The scallop appetizer was fantastic- tortilla, salsa, guacamole and scallops were delicious. The lobster is fresh and flavorable and beats the hotel served ones hands down. Waiters were attentive and American friendly with excellent language skills and the facilities are in great shape with the hurricane leaded glass window a poignant reminder of the past. Get a table on the deck for the best experience.

ok food for a high price, best part is you are right on the water, nice lagoon view. However almost all the restaurants in the hotel zone are overpriced so you have to consider that
