La Rosa Nautica
The beautiful La Rosa Nautica offers an incomparable view and sumptious seafood dishes, along with one of the most sophisticated bar in Peru. The traditional Peruvian dish ceviche is offered both as an appetizer as well as an entree. Don't be afraid to ask for the catch of the day, which can be prepared to suit a variety of palates. Remember to enjoy the soothing sound of waves crashing on the shore.
We live in the US and my husband and I decided to celebrate our wedding in Peru (where I am originally). We had a reception at La Rosa Nautica for 80 people between close friends and relatives. We were charged $31.00 per person for the Criolla Menu which consisted in a couple appetaizers, causa rellena de cangrejo (crab) and as the main dish the famous Lomo Saltado. My mom tasted the food just to make sure we did the right decision. She said the food was good and a fair portion. However; on my wedding day was another story. The causa rellena didn't have good flavor and the crab smelled bad, and my bigger dissapointment was the lomo saltado... it wasn't the same presentation that my mom saw the first time , it was cold, dry,not too much and with no flavor at all... I was very upset and very frustated because the wedding reception was at 1pm and most of my guests didn't have breakfast that morning. Everybody was expecting a good food and a fair portion which never happenned...
I felt La Rosa Nautica just care of the tourist people and they ensure to have a good service in the other areas of this restaurant but in the reception area it was a disaster!!!
So, if you live outside of Peru and you are planning to get married and Lima, DEFINATELY LA ROSA NAUTICA IS NOT THE PLACE YOU'RE LOOKING FOR TO CELEBRATE YOUR WEDDING... do not pay attention that it is a famous place in Lima because at the end you will face the sad true.
I've been to La Rosa Nautica 4 times in the last 15 years and the food has never wavered, and the feeling of sitting at one of the window tables with the high tide bringing 8 foot breakers 10 feet away , can compete with any romantic location in the world.
what a great restaurant. the location is totally awesome, on the beach overlooking the ocean. all the restaurant personnel were all friendly and were very helpful, i know a little Spanish but needed some help with some items in the menu & they bought over a English version menu. The appetizers were to die for, everything was delicious, liked the scallops & calamri. The ceviche was excellent
and so was my main dish Argentine steak. 10 Stars for this restaurant.
I loved the mahi mahi and the beautiful umbrellas. also the servers were speady quick and wondefully delightful. i recommned going when it is raining outside because there is nothing like eating while its raining
i love it, the view is excellent!...
Elegant, and/or Sport Elegant, is relly great for romantic dinners, i strongly recomend it! You've Got To Go!
Is relly great to go on Summer Nights, relly romantic, It is Great!
We really liked ambiance, out there surrounded by the ocean, the variety of choices from vegetables to steaks, and of course the excellent service. The seafood dishes are exceptional. I suggest the lobster.

THEY CHARGED ME $95.00 (USD) FOR ONE CIGAR. THEY MUST THINK GRINGOS ARE STUPID -- MY PERUVIAN FRIENDS WERE SHOCKED AT THE PRICE!!!
THE FOOD IS NOT THAT GREAT AND IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE. THE ONLY THING THAT THIS PLACE HAS GOING FOR IT IS THE LOCATION AND THE MANAGEMENT KNOWS IT -- THEY ARE REALLY ARROGANT AND RUDE BECAUSE THEY KNOW THERE IS NO OTHER PLACE IN LIMA LIKE IT.
SUGGESTION: GO AT SUNSET FOR A VERY EXPENSIVE DRINK AND THEN GO TO A RESTAURANT WITH GOOD FOOD AFTER THE SUN GOES DOWN -- ASTRID AND GASTON, LA MAR, JOSE ANTONIO, OR LA HUACA PUCLLANA; THEY ARE ALL A BIT PRICEY, BUT WORTH EVERY PENNY; UNLIKE ROSA NAUTICA
This place is expensive by Peruvian standards, but it is worth it and it is cheap by American standards. First a very romantic place on a pier over the ocean with spotlights highlighting the waves at night. Great pisco sours as soon as you sit down. The menu had great selections and all were satisfied. My duck was fantastic the last time I was there. I've been there 3 times in a two year period. The service has always been great.
Beautiful setting; close views of breakers & night-foraging gulls just outside the window.
Delicious food- I had the duck and chocolate mousse, and a NYC resturant couldn't have done it better.
As a happy conclusion, the bill was reasonable.
If I ever return to Lima, I'm paying that place another visit. And I'll be sure to take a photo of that delightful mousse.
