Great Restaurant , but....

I flew from Los Angeles to Lima for one night only in order to take one of my former Peruvian colleagues, a female University professor, out to dinner.
Restaurant is located on a pier and has very romantic appeal. Food and wine somewhat met our expectations.
However, it was apparent to us that "typical" Peruvians do not frequent this restaurant. I felt uncomfortable to have a busboy, instead of English-speaking waiter, take our orders and to serve us our meals and wine. Our menus had no printed prices. It was very obvious to me that presence of my Peruvian colleague (half Peruvian Indian / half Spanish with darker skin complexion) diminished our status to the "less important guests." This was very obviously reflected in level of service we have received. Moreover, this was accentuated by high level of attention all other guests seating around us were receiving throughout the night from regular, well dressed, waiters.
It is sad that restaurant of this caliber and reputation engages in (visual) discrimination against its guests. At the end of the evening, I felt it was important to apologies to my former University colleague for this experience.
