Mitchell and Deborah Hauser have created a warm and wonderfully inviting place at Barney's Corner for you to enjoy a superb dinner. Our customers liken the atmosphere to a New England country inn from the friendly welcome and cozy surroundings, to the delicious and carefully prepared cuisine: the overall experience might just transport you to a time and place all but forgotten in our fast, modern world (particularly on a snowy winter night by the crackling log fire!). Mitchell's style of cooking is a combination of classical French and New American; he is very particular about finding the best and freshest produce in the market and he skillfully combines flavors, textures and colors to create imaginative , original and exciting dishes such as Barney's Famous Crabcakes, our Long Island Duckling and our legendary Foie Gras. Barney's as a restaurant, has existed since 1985. Before that it was a popular road house from the early twentieth century, it was Barney Burnett's residence. Barney was certainly a larger than life character - a very rotund fireman who weighed in somewhere between 600 800 pounds (depending on who is telling the story). The spot has always been known as Barney's Corner and has long been a landmark for travelers.
