Junior's Restaurant & Bakery
World-renowned in regards to their cheesecakes, the original Junior's located in downtown Brooklyn has been serving old-school, no-frills fare for more than 50 years. The place is a throwback to the 50's too, with colorful and casual decor reminiscent of a diner. Everyone enjoys coming here, perhaps due to to the big burgers, blintzes and the amazing cheesecakes which can be ordered and shipped overnight anywhere in the states. Or if you can't make it to Brooklyn for one, there is also another location in Times Square.
I DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON, BECAUSE I PURCHASED TWO PORTIONS OF STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE AND FOUND TO MY DISMAY, IT TASTED AWFUL.. THE CAKE PORTION WAS BLAND AS PAPER, IT WASN T SWEET AT ALL,THE STRAWBERRY SAUCE WAS EVEN WORSE. THE WHIP CREAM WAS ALSO TASTELESS. NO MORE STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE FOR ME!!! I REFUSE TO PAY $6.95 FOR CORNBREAD WITH RED SAUCE.
I'd like to send out a very warm heartfelt thank you to the waiter that served me back in February 2008. He was so very kind and also very helpful to me. This man was an Angel and a Godsend to me. If it were not for him, I would of have starved to death and froze to death on the streets of Brooklyn, NY. I was a new person there and had no place to go to or anything to eat. I had a little bit of money with me at that time and I was going to pay for my own food and drink, but the waiter insisted that he help me and pay for my orders himself. Thank You so very much for pointing me in the right direction. And... If you are out there and you happen to read this article, please consider yourself hugged. From your advice and all of your help... I also met my soul - mate there in Brooklyn from a drop in shelter there on Gold and Tillary streets when it was in operation. Now it is closed. J and I married in 2008 and has since passed away on November 14th, 2010.
God Bless you for all that you have done for me. Oh, and by the way... I have returned that favor to many people that were in my predictament at that time. You are an Angel and I am happy to have met such a wonderful and caring person as you are. Stay Cool and remain an Angel. God has a lot in store for you.
My husband sent me a picture of the rat right next to the cheese cakes. I was very sad to see that since I was a big fan of their desserts. I will never buy from then again. I just cant get the image out of my head its nasty. I just hope they threw out those cakes.
they just found a rat among the cheese cakes at juniors cheese cake brooklyn flatbush establishment saw it on the news just giving people heads up thats not a good look for any of their restaurants i wouldnt be able to ever eat a cheese cake again thinking about the size of that rat thats just my opinion
I paid $50.00 for a dinner for my daughter and myself. It was terrible. I had shrimp parmesean. It tasted like it had ketchup on it. My daughter had the open roast beef which consisted of a ton of gravy. We both could only handle a couple of bites and had to leave. The waitress was nice and service good. Did not have to wait for a table in evening time. Large portions do not always translate into good tasing food.
Junior's wasn't my first choice, but I was glad we went. We went early, about 5:15 and got seated right away. Skimp on your meal so you can splurge on dessert. I had a Chicken Caesar's salad that I couldn't even finish it was so huge. Then for the desserts! We were splitting our desserts among us and I was thankful because the cheesecake was so rich, I couldn't even eat it! By that time, people were waiting out the door for tables, but you can't feel bad when you are enjoying your food so much.
