C'mon, folks. You're in a city bustling with culture, class and perhaps 20 million authentic Italian restaurants - and you chose to visit Olive Garden on Times Square?? Are you nuts?
Of course, the Olive Garden takes a prime seat in Times Square with a lot of other American mainstays. (Bubba Gumps, Hard Rock Cafe, and TGI Fridays are all neighbors.) The ambience is of screaming children, and midwestern tourists wearing pink sweats or designer t-shirts three sizes too small. The view of the roller-rink of tourisitic Times-Square out the window may reward you with an occasional glimpse of the Naked Cowboy while you munch on the garlic sticks reminiscent of half the restaurants in unimaginitive suburbia. Then the main course - ALL YOU CAN EAT GERIATRIC-FLAVORED PASTA! Yum! I'm sure you loved caffeteria food growing up and have a slight digestive problem that means you need flavorless food - but what on earth posesses you to eat four tons of it? Isn't that thong sticking out of your sweat pants painful enough?
The world famous 'Restaurant Row' is merely a block away on 46th Street. On the otherhand, if you're wearing a fanny pack, pink sweats which showcases the top of your thong, and a lovely 'juicy' t-shirt three sizes too small, please do stay at the Olive Garden! New Yorkers really don't want to run into you while dining on their truly authentic Italian gnocci.

OMG out of all the restaurants i have been to in new york i can easly say this one is the best ever. The food was great, the service was amazing, and the atmosphere is incredible. As soon as u walk in it smells like your on Italian heaven. Its specialty is Italian Cusine i personaly love their all u can eat pasta deal, and the chicken alfredo, and their portabelo steak. ANyway i suggest all u new yorkers go to this restaurants or any visitors GO you will be satisfied.
I can't believe that in a city that makes some of the best Italian food outside of Italy that people would seriously vote this on the list. What is wrong with you tourists? The food at the Olive Garden is what you would expect from a mediocre chain-restaurant. If you want real Italian food go to Patsy's (which should be much higher on the list than this place).
