Do Not Disturb sign means nothing!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/12/08
I had my Do Not Disturb sign on my door, yet was awakened by a knock at 9:30 am, which I did not acknowledge. About an hour later I heard another knock, but was in the bathroom, so also did not acknowledge. Then a little after 11 am, my phone rang. I answered and found out that it was the housekeeper, wanting to know when she could clean my room. I asked her if she had knocked before and did she notice that I had a Do Not Disturb sign on my door. She admitted that she had knocked and that she had seen the sign. I then asked her why she was calling my room, knowing that I did not wish to be disturbed. She apologized, but it was too late, she had already woken me up and disturbed my morning. Why bother having those signs, if they are not meaningful? The only thing I did like, is that I was able to get free wireless internet in my room, even though the hotel does not tell you this because they want you to pay for an ethernet connection. So if you do stay here and have a wireless laptop, try to get online in your room and avoid giving these people your money for nothing!

I stayed here with my daughter and we thought this Hotel was AMAZING! we have come to the Marriott Marquis 3 times and now when we go back this is the only hotel we can look at! GREAT SERVICE! everyone was so nice! we had a time square view on the 48 floor! or something like that! The beds were so comfortable! the wall were think so you couldnt here anything from the other room and not 2 much nois from outside (i mean its New York City what do u expect!) It was in a GREAT location! The elevators were soo AMAZING as well! They werent 2 hard to figure out (you just have to bush your floor number on a keypad and it will tell u what elevator to go on) they are so fast! and when we cam down from our room i they would slowly start to pop lol. What a nice and clean place to stay!!

Good first NYC experience!
By William, 1/1/08
The hotel location is amazing! You can literally walk out the door and into a Broadway theater. The concierge and desk staff were so very helpful! You can print your airline boarding passes in the business center 24 hours prior to departure--a nice perk. I thought the stay was overpriced, but then again mostngs in NYC are. Loved the elevators once we figured them out--great concept for a high-rise hotel. We actually didn't spend much time in the hotel--there is just too much to do in the city! If you're in the mood for cheesecake, bagels, or burgers, I have to say that my family loved Junior's Restaurant, just across the street. The Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular is also not to be missed.

Great place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/7/07
Excellent meal and excellent accomodations. The restaurant at the top of the Marquis has an excellent view of the city. The deserts are to die for. I always stay at the Marquis when I am on business or pleasure in NYC.

Beautiful Hotel, room lacking
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/17/07
The hotel was wonderful, but the room was not that great. The TV didn't work very well and the furniture was old. However, the lobby and food were wonderful and the elevators were really cool and fast. Great location and definately worth staying. The View Restaurant was great.

The hotel was clean, accomodating, and the staff was curteous. Great location. It's right in the heart of things. I went specifically to see the Color Purple.

Best hotel in the area
By A.E.Boudreau, 8/21/07
I have tried several hotels in the NYC area -- Grand Hyatt, Sheraton Times Square, Double Tree Times Square, W Hotel on Lex. The Marriott Marquis is by far the best. The rooms are spacious, it is quiet, the staff is polite, and the fitness center is state of the art. In fact, I checked into the W at Lex to get away from the crowds at Times Square. Needless to say, I'm checking out of the W at Lex to go stay at the Marquis!
