Virgil's, New York

The food at Virgil was good but to say its the best BBQ in NYC is quite a stretch. i have been to pretty much every bbq restaurant in NYC and have found two that are better than the rest: Blue Smoke and Dinosaur BBQ. Blue Smoke; i realize that its in trendy Murray Hill in Mid Town but the food was pretty good, the service was fantastic and they have a great beer selection. Dinosaur on the other hand is out of the way (131st street) and you have to make reservations; however Dinosaur BBQ is the best BBQ ive ever eaten, not just in NYC, but EVER. long story short; if you're coming to NYC and you want good food and a little adventure, make your way to Dinosaur BBQs and you'll not be disappointed.

Absolutely Delish!!! The train wreck fries are a little intimidating, lol but soo fulfilling! And their wings have this undescribable different taste to them!! Must get both if you go! By far the best BBQ I have ever eaten!!

Stumbled on Virgils when heading to Times Square on first Visit to NYC. Have made a poin of going there ever since when in the city. Great food , Great service at reasonable prices

sorry folks, although new york has world class restaurants, It cant fix great bbq. it wouldn't be natural. totally against the laws of bbq nature.

If it's BBQ, and it's north of the Mason Dixon line...fuggedaboudit! The north has a few advantages, I suppose...higher standard of living, education, etc., but they don't know squat about BBQ. Oh, and southern women are infinitely superior. We have much better food and women..there's really no reason to live up north. :D

the food was great and service was fast. the biscuits and maple butter are delish as well. prices were reasonable for NYC and the portions were large.
