Virgil's Real Barbecue, Manhattan

i was very cautious when going to virgils, being a barbecue place in times square. after eating there, all i could say was wow!! i got the pulled pork sandwich which was one of the best ive ever had (and ive had it in st louis, texas, kansas city)! we also got a side of macaroni and cheese and it was by far the absolute BEST mac and cheese i have ever eaten!!!! the service was excellent as well giving us warm hand towels (real towels) after we were done.for dessert, the chocolate pie was amazing as well! overall this is definitely one of the best barbecue restaurants ive ever eaten at!

Touristy theater district eatery catering to diners with marginal expectations for real BBQ. The service is c aring but can't rescue a kitchen that needs reschooling.

"Love Virgil's! My favorite food there is the fried catfish and macaroni and cheese! My favorite cocktail is the Junebug. All of their entrees are great, I can count on Virgil's to give me a clogged artery."

Noisy and the ribs were overdone.
