Carmine's Midtown, New York

Anyone who is a true New Yorker cannot possibly be saying that Carmine's is the best Italian restaurant in NYC. It's all about quantity and not quality. It is mediocre at best - but that's what has happened all over America. Medicocre anything (music, food, tv, movies) is considered great. Now I live in the midwest, Minnesota, where quantity outweighs quality. I have not had one decent southern Italian meal since I left NYC. All you tourists - take a walk, burn some calories, and look for the better Italian restaurants.

Carmine's is one of the best Italian restaurants in the city. If you have a big family celebration, that would be a great time to go. There meals are based on family size, so don't order too much. If you are on a budget and you are alone, catch their price fix from 4:00-6:00 (don't be late!!!). Make sure to order their chicken marsala. It is sooooooooo good.

Are you kidding? This is only about quantity, not quality. There are many other find restaurants in New York; why this one? And, the rooms are very noisy to boot.

I could eat Carmine's every night! Nothing I've had to date compares!

I was in NYC in March this year, and we happened upon Carmine's on our last night there, and if we would've known about Carmine's the first night, we probably would've eaten there every night! It was the best spaghetti and salad I have ever eaten, and the bread was excellent as well. We are planning a return trip to NYC this next March, and you can believe that we will be eating there more than once. I can't wait!

Good Food, Good Atmosphere, Decent Portions! It may not come with all the pizzazz of some of the other establishments of Manhattan, if you spend any time in New York City, this is a must! While there, you may want to check out Bella Napalm, my daughter’s favorite, and also a very decent, well priced restaurant in the heart of the city

Certainly not great food. Just decent. I can make better on a fair night. Very loud. It does have a certain atmosphere however that begs your return. Food prices about what you'd expect. Drink prices were a little high. Service gets a 7 out of 10.

My first expereince with Carmine's was on my birthday about 10 years ago. I loved it. The food was the best I have ever tasted. I recently took my girlfriend to the Tropicana in Atlantic City and to my surprise there is a Carmine's located in the Quarter at the Trop. We dined there that night and now she is in love with it. I tell her that we have to go to the location in NYC. Buca Di Beppo has nothing on Carmine's. If you want a Carmine's rip-off go to Buca. I would recommend Carmine's to anyone going to New York for a day or a month. It is a New York must.
