Carmine's Midtown, New York

I have only been to Carmine's once...but that was enough to hook me! The portions are HUGE and the food is amazing! We tried several things while there and it was all very good...my favorite dinner food was the Braciole; it was absolutely out of this world!! For dessert...you can not miss the Tartufo...it is to die for!!! I can not wait until I can go back to NY...Carmine's is on the top of my list of Must Do's!!

What can I say?? Carmines is amazing - kinda like Cheers - you go in and everyone knows your name!! Kudos to Freddie the bartender - he makes sure your glass is never empty! Food is great too. We love it! Kim & Robin

The wine selection is not too good. The food was average but it wasn't anything too special. It's not a definite go to but if you want to go out to eat and are unsure of where to go I guess this would be a decent place to go.

I have been to this restraunt twice and it was awesome. The servings sizes are HUGE. I highly recommend this restraunt if you ever go to New York.

What a great place. The food is so plentiful you have to take some home for snacking on later. Great food, great service, love this place. I recommend it highly.

I consider myself a foodie-and although Carmine's is not the best Italian restaurant in the city- no one who is Southern Italian can say it is a bad, southern Italian restaurant. The portions are large, but they expect that you are eating faminly style and sharing the food. The chicken scarpiello is great when it is not overcooked, which has occassionally happened. The penne vodka, Lasagna, shrimp scampi are all very good for the price as well as the stuffed mushrooms and casear salad. This is a lively, fun noisy restaurant with good, southern italian cuisine. a 7 out of 10

Carmine's is an excellent restaurant - especially ideal for larger groups, because of its family style serving. The food is really good - prices are very reasonable - I entertain there once or twice a year, and everybody leaves with a smile.

Carmine's is THE BEST Italian restaurant in NYC. Yes the portions are huge and family style, but the appetizers, soups, salads, sauce, and main courses are mouth watering. Carmines is quality and quantity without compromising either. If you are a tourist don't get trapped into paying $15 for a hamburger at the TGI Fridays in Times Square. For another $15 two people can eat at Carmines and enjoy great Italian food.
