Good Italian cuisine with friendly service visited mostly by theater goers.

This was very good pasta. It was cooked well, al dente, and not mushy. My fav is shrimp sauce on fettucini. It includes a lot of fresh garlic slivers. A pretty good value: spend about $30 and feed four people on one dish!

Be very hungry! Service was good, food was good. Be ready to have lots! of food on your table. We had salad and spagetti and meat balls, food was good but nothing extra. alittle pricey

Loved the spaghetti and chicken parmisan. My husband and I shared these two plates and had leftovers! It was awesome food. We went to the theater district location. It was not crowded at all at around 2pm on a weekday. Late nights are about a 45-60min wait.

I've lived in NYC for 17 years, and Carmine's is one of my favorites. (Although I prefer the UWS location to the Times Square one.) The Ceasar salad is to die for (note lots of fresh garlic), and the chicken marsala is one of the best I've had. You will enjoy this friendly place, as I have for many years!

The spiedini alla romana is to die for--that itself is worth the trip! Eaten there twice, both times very good. Service is good, good atmosphere. I've had better Italian entrees elsewhere, but the food comes in huge portions and is quite good nonetheless.

C'mon, this is hardly one of the top italian restaurants in New York... For the money, it's a good value. It's an upscale Olive Garden or Carraba's with gargantous portions and a New York atmosphere, so it makes for a fun meal for the money. But the food is not fabulous (it's pretty good, though). I would say it's good for a group, and also good for a pre-theater meal (watch those long waits, though). Other than that, there are so many amazing restaurants in NY, that Carmine's should not be on the top of this list.
