Description

A casual, neighborhood sushi place, Yuka offers a popular "all you can eat" special. Origami birds hang from the ceiling, embellishing an otherwise generic space. The friendly service is sometimes efficient, and at other times it is a little slow. The restaurant offers the usual assortment of New York City sushi, including such items as Alaska Maki (fresh salmon with avocado, smelt roe and cucumber) and California roll (with crab meat and avocado).

This place is not for your avg sushi goer. There are rules at Yuka and one must understand those rules. If you can appreciate fresh sushi then you appreciate Yuka. All you can eat has its benefits... Ive eaten at the most expensive sushi places in the city, paid a hefty price and still managed to get sick by the time i got home... for alll the years I have been eating here i am THOROUGHLY, COMPLETELY, UTTERLY satisfied. Yeah so the place is crowded (gee maybe something is good here) and the place isnt as modern as those high charging places, but really do you care?? The place is clean, the staff smiles (albeit sometimes from confusion) but the fish is rocking.. especially that SALMON! Got my girl hooked on Yuka too, and she is more picky than the health dept! lol...

terrible awful

dired rice, unfresh meat, dirty and tiny place, slow service... That is all we got. You can buy much better sushi from any grocery store.

READ AND RUN...TO YUKA
By ,
Little, crowded, dark but worth every bite. All-you-can-eat must be the best buy in any town. A Chinese friend said, if it's all you can eat sushi must be tiny. Not! Big delicious traysful keep coming and coming.

So-So Sushi and Sashimi
By ,
Everyone raves about the $18 all-you-can-eat sushi special, but I don't see what all the hype is about, especially when there are other superior options right around the corner. My sashimi was only so-so, but quantity substitutes for quality in this case. Worse still, Yuka is quite small, so you are quite cramped; the management would be well served to remove a few tables, although this will exacerbate the already lengthy waits around dinner. If you're looking to gorge yourself, Yuka is a nice selection, but you can get better sushi and sashimi at many other places.

Fresh sushi. Can't beat the price!
By ,
Food is very good and refresh. Overall service is quite good. The value is un-beatable for the quality of food!

Best sushi I've ever had
By ,
Ever since a friend showed me Yuka, I've been back several times. They have some of the best sushi I've ever had (especially their salmon) and the sushi chefs are very fast. The service is also very good although they are very strict about sharing sushi with someone who isn't paying for the all you can eat.

I love this place

Friendliest sushi chefs in New York, maybe the whole East Coast. Delicious, fresh sushi, on par with much more expensive restaurants. Quality is excellent. My wife and I try to visit 1 to 2 times per month. If you come to NYC -- go to YUKA!

Sushi for free???
By ,
Almost all of the serious sushi lovers in Philadelphia travel the 1.5 hours to get to Yuka, sometimes just for dinner on a random weeknight. For $18, the sushi is cheaper, fresher, thicker (not paper thin), truly unlimited (we ordered 120 pieces for our first round for 4 people), and most importantly comes with very very little rice. For less than 50 cents a piece, they might as well give it away for free!!!
