Saigon Grill, New York

wow this place rocks... the food is so good and the price is just right, we arrived super late after a show around 11pm and were relieved they were open until midnight... there was no rush to speak of and were quickly seated... we ordered the shrimp rolls, mama's grilled chicken (to die for), house fried rice and saigon beef... all the food was top quality and too much for 2 people... definately would return when i get back to NY!

What can be a better deal? Good food and reasonable price. It is one of the best of Asian cuisine I have tried locally. Don't miss their seafood Tom-Yom Soup. This eatery serves excellent Thai food too. However, waiting time can be quite long, so make sure you are not in a rush-hour to visit it. Take a dip. You'll be glad you did.

If you're like me (and any other budget-conscience New Yorker) this place is just for you. When you find yourself hungry and on the UWS, this should be on your list of places to eat... If you like hearty Tom Yum soup, their seafood one hits the spot.

Its to bad I haven't enjoyed the pleasres of the Grill in a while(about 6 mos) I can still taste the amazing flavors of the food there. I regret I dont often have the time to enjoy a bowl of their shrimp in coconut milk soup (Sorry I dont have the proper name of the dish in front of me.) They are wonderful about accomodating large parties and allow for sharing of food if you are working on a budget. They have large servings of food and resonable prices. What more could you askfor on a tight NYC budget. And yes it makes a great place for a date. I have never seen any of the infamous lines many NYC resturaunts have but the place is never empty either. I would send anyone there especially if they asked me to join them. Grin.

For as large as it is inside, you will almost always seen it teeming and that's because they are consistently good and not expensive. Even for someone like me who is not as big a fan of Vietanmese as say, Thai, I have never had a bad dish here. And it holds up even for delivery, making this a MUCH better option than your normal grease-pit Chinese take-out - you deserve better and Saigon Grill comes through.

Saigon Grill is Chinese-Vietnamese-Thai-Japanese restaurant in UWS, which reminds me of Thai Basil and some Vietnamese restaurants in the Bay Area. All the dishes I've tried (Spinach dumplings, Shrimp dumpling soup, Pad Thai, and spring rolls) were tasty and they service big portions so 2 appetizers and 1 entree were enough food for party of 2.

ok ok, forgive my trite phrase, but you WILL love this place a LONG TIME, no joke about that! the food is insanely consistent, authentic, reasonable and delicious and the servers are fantastic. talk about a solid place you can rely on, it's saigon grill. it's so good that the people who know about this place had no trouble following it from it's longtime home on Bway near 86th st. it's always bustling but never caustic. always the best smooth, hearty vibe, pace and energy. for vegetarians, it's also a goldmine. i like to order the Goi Cuon Chay (Vegetarian Summer Roll) and String Green Beans (Stir-fried with shallots, basil and garlic sauce) and of course the fish dishes like the salmon Ca Nuong is heaven. and this is not to mention the portions--HUGE! i've never gone there and ordered a dish alone, oh no, all the dishes are so big you gotta half it with a friend. also, if you're in the mood for noodles, then order the Mi Xao Don with whatever topping you want! go with someone and have a blast. this is in my top 10 list with good reason! also, they offer great desserts and great drinks. i like the vietnamese coffee which has a kick and good creme touch to it. but usually i don't have room for the sweets. and i like mine extra hot so i usually order water, not to be cheap but because my mouth gets hot! make sure to add some of the red hot chili paste or other condiments there in the metal containers on the table. The food is excellent and the Saigon Grill staff are quite good to their customers. Simple place.

Reasonably priced. Nothing fancy but I've watched them grow into an awesome spot. People come from everywhere to eat here. Thai food is the greatest! So flavorful and rich. This spot is a winner in my book!

Recommended place to go for a good food and cheap price... U have to try Boo Lu Lac this is the best and fav food so far and BBQ Ribs and u will go home with full stomach and cant wait to go back...
