Ollie's Noodle Shop
Ollie's Noodle Shop, the local chain of Chinese restaurants, features numerous different dumpling soups, with a variety of toppings available. They also feature many noodle dishes, including a fairly authentic rendition of Singapore Chow Mei Fun, a curry noodle dish. This branch is in a cavernous space, near Sony Theaters Lincoln Square, and a few steps from Lincoln Center. Ollie's Noodle Shop is a good place to happily enjoy noodles.
I have been going to Ollie's for years, since I was a Kid. And have always loved their food. I especially love their Peking Duck, which is very good. But there is something going with their service, at first maybe they were biased against people of color. I don't know what it is and I don't want to assume anything, that maybe wrong. But their service needs some new training about treating customers. There are a few waiters and waitress that are really good and pleasant. One in particular who had such a warm and sweet smile. God Bless her. If the food wasn't good, I wouldn't come at all. Oh yes when you ask for anything that is special or not on the menu some of them look at you like you have ten heads. Like they don't know what your talking about, when I just asked about it the last time I was here. And here we go I'm trying to explain what I want and you looking at me like I don't what your talking about lol. They are a trip lol, just thinking about makes me laugh. The food is good and decor is really pleasant, but the service can be improved. So that is why I gave them a 2 stars and not 4. Hope this was helpful, because I'm just being honest.
been to all the ollie's on broadway. very nice atmosphere, fabulouse decor, awesome service, excellent prices, varied menu(huge selection)..... and the shrimp dumplings!! mmm mmm mmm!
p.s. nice public place for first social meetings.
Delicious, and great atmosphere, but very bad services! I went there with couples of friends. Waiter serving was very rude, then we ask for manager. The guy name SIMON (manager) respond us with very bad attitudes... terrible experience for dining at Ollies, I suggested DONT go there.
This is my favorite restaurant to go to. I know every location and have eaten at them all. the food is awesome i go there for lunch and dinner and if i am on the go i get take out. it is so awesome how no matter which way u choose they accommodate u. have gone there for special occasion with all my friends and family. Just dont go to the new one that is near time square. for some reason that one has the worst food ever.
They have the best shrimp and broccoli with garlic sauce!
But I don't like how they serve your meal and then 5 minutes later bring the rice over and then 5 minutes after that they try and take your plate away. It's all very rushed and chaotic and they sit people on top of each other. The above is specific to the 44th street location in Times Square.
Pros: The food was good and at a good price. I'll go back to try those amazing looking bowls of soup that I saw other people eating, they looked delicious! The combinatin lo mein was also good.
Cons: The staff were friendly enough, although the waiter did not seem like he wanted to make recommendations. It would be best to come in at least a group of 3. My husband and I dined alone and they took the table next to us and didn't leave any soy and hot sauce, we had to borrow it from the table next to ours! While the food was good, the jury's still out on the restaurant until I try the soup!
i dislike that the food should be a little cheaper but from there it is a very good restuarnt. I also think there should be more people working there and out side where you can sit down i don't think the tables can be a little more neat and clean
