Churrascaria Plataforma is a Rodizio style restaurant. Rodizio is a method of serving meat that originated in the south of Brazil in the early 1800's. The concept is to serve a wide variety of different cuts of beef - sirloin, baby beef, top round, skirt steak, short ribs, brisket, rib eye; pork - ham, pork ribs, sausage, pork loin, suckling pig; chicken - chicken legs, chicken hearts; turkey - wrapped in bacon; lamb, fish, etc. in succession, to each diner individually right at their table. A meal typically begins with a trip to the gourmet salad bar, which features a variety of vegetables and composed salads in addition to four hot dishes. We also serve a selection of side dishes at your table. The main course, the highlight of the meal, will start when you flip your coaster-sized "chip" from the red side to the green side, signaling the meat cutters you're ready to be served. Winner of Three Consecutive NYC Health Dept "Golden Apple Award".
Excellent for large work gathering, gourmet buffet truly is, and our vegetarian (no cheese) loved it. The service model is fast, even swift, high-energy. The food is excellent, meat-lovers will be in paradise, and the gourmet salad bar will pleaes the rest.
In a few words - Highly recommend - Outstanding meal, great service.
We took in the restaurant as a pre-theater meal. When I knew we would be late they easily pushed back our reservation 30 minutes. When we arrived we were seated immediately. When I was researching restaurants I was a bit put off by the $59.95 fixed price but in retrospect I can tell you it was an excellent deal. Our party consisted of 3 adults and 3 teens and there was something for everyone. The wine list was also very reasonable.
Definitely one of the best Churrascaria's I've ever been to. I've been here several times, usually with co-workers or for friends' birthdays, and they've always been willing to accomodate large groups. The wine list is decent, and the cheese-filled fried appetizers are awesome to munch on while you wait. You start off with a regular buffet that includes everything from palm hearts to sushi - all prepared very well and delicious. But don't fill yourself there; the best is definitely all the meats that come by your table. Excellent chicken, salmon, lamb chops, and cuts of beef! I would pass on the sausage - not my cup of tea, but the rest you should definitely try!
First, the service is impeccable. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the service was fantastic. The service was fast and friendly, and this was even on a Saturday night when they were extrememly busy. The ambience is mid to low lighting, comfortable tables and cozy atmosphere. The food was great. The only thing I would is that I would have liked to have seen more meat choices come to the table. Also, if you like your red meat medium rare or rare, be sure to tell your waiter when they come to the table to carve.
Housed in a massive but simple space, the Brazilian Churrascaria Plataforma is a meat lover's paradise, with spectacular varieties carved
