I had been with my whole family to Bombay Palace. Food was not spicy, it was ok. The service was very poor. And it was expensive. They kept us waiting on the buffet for a dosa, but the chef could not make it .
If you are in NYC go somewhere else.
Recently in NYC, I went to the best Indian Restaurant in Manhattan. The food was excellent, the overall ambient was so amazing, a soft feeling of Indian traditional yet modern touch. I spend my whole evening there, as there is also a super lounge one floor up, name K Lounge. It was awesome food and awesome night I spend. Cool waiters, always welcoming, the food cannot be described, served in hot plates..it was superb. I went there again the following day for their buffet, it was so good, that i couldn't believe my eyes when my bill came, so cheap for that amount of good food. I highly recommend.
This restaraunt food is really bad.
They service is slow.
Me and my husband got sick from this food.
The food is oily and they added food color to all their food,
This is the worst Indian food that I tasted.
I would never visit again.
likein was excellent speacially our waiter was experience and well educated and was well groomed and was talkeing good english should have a name badge for the waiter he was tallest and good looking, was surprice that he gave us a good service and spoke to us about our holiday he made our trip well and that was our last night in nyc but we like to see him back as we are in new york next summer iam sure he must be makeing ur bussiness goin we are from england and will come back tanking u for our trip u made the food and the service specially
A friend, a senior on a fixed income, and I go often for their prix fixe buffet lunch. Very good Indian food well seasoned, good choices, chaffing dishes kept well filled, nice ambiance and friendly staff!
Service is often more spotty for dinner - when guests aren't basically waiting on themselves, as they go for seconds and thirds, but it is fine for this tasty lunch. A very good bargain!
The staff also seems particularly sensitive and helpful to seniors special needs, rather than impatient and rude, as in many places. Highly recommended!
I have lived in NY for over 20 years and have never had such a bad experience in a restaurant. Last Friday I went with a friend and we were treated so poorly by the waiters I will never go back. The restaurant had 10 people in it for dinner; we got the worst seat in the house, near the kitchen, the food was cold when it finally arrived and the wait staff was horrendous. I will NEVER go back there.
We (family of 4) had dinner early (6 pm) on a Saturday evening. Food was excellent, but service was atrocious. Staff was uniformly aloof to surly. Seemed to be a team service approach, so no waiter specifically delegated to table, which led to being largely ignored by all. Delay between courses was incredibly long, and some orders forgotten. If we had been going to theater it would have had a close call making it, which is absurd for sitting down at 6 in an uncrowded restaurant. Food was good, so perhaps go for the lunch buffet where you don't depend on serving staff.
This is a very nice Indian place on the upper east side of Manhattan if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of midtown. The food was very wonderful, and the atmosphere was quiet and romantic. We try both the vegetarian and the meat dishes and were satisfied by both.
