Sapporo, the busy noodle shop is a popular lunchtime favorite of office workers from the publishing industry located close by. The menu at Sapporo is quite simple and features a wide range of piping-hot, soupy ramen noodle dishes (noodles served with meat and vegetables in flavored broths) like Miso Ramen, Shoyu Ramen and Curry Ramen, among others. The menu at Sapporo also has other classic Japanese dishes like sukiyaki, which features beef cooked with vegetables in a sauce made with soy sauce, sugar and mirin, the Japanese equivalent of rice wine. Other items of note include the Chahan, a Japanese-style fried rice made with pork, and the Gyoza dumplings.
i am writing to inform to the general public that this place is very busy and the people are very friendly. Plus there are the best place for ramen. i tried the chefs special for ramen and it was delicious. It had everthing in there LOL. i would recommend this resto who love ramen and they do have other dishes on the menu.
I have been coming here for Years and this restaurant has the best Ramen in the world. Their broth and noodles are so delicious, I dream of my trips to the city just so I can eat at this fabulous place.
Sapporo is my favorite ramen place in New York City! It's difficult to get seating during lunchtime, but if you can get there a little early it's totally worth it. The Special Ramen bowl and Miso Ramen bowl are both excellent. The soup flavoring in these bowls can be a little on the salty side sometimes, but the overall seasonings with noodles and pork cutlets and fish cakes is delicious. Their other offerings (katsu, etc) are decent as well, but I'd definitely take their ramen over the other dishes any day.
Quick and delicious - definitely a great lunch place.
If you want to try Japanese ramen, you can to Sapporo. If you want to find a cheap Japanese restaurant, you can go to Sapporo. It is a small restaurant, but it is full of people anytime. Only one thing not perfect is that its soup is too salt.
I was shocked at how fast the foods come out! They literally came out less than 3 minutes after we ordered. Don-katsu with curry sauce was good but looked messy. Vegetarian soy bean soup noodle was decent, but not memorable. I've had MUCH better noodles before in other places.
